When Anesthesia Fails

Sep 03, 2006 09:44

Friday was a good ole' long day.  Went with mom to school in order to, well, run errands.   I had to see Mr. Pietrangeli, my financial aid advisor, in order to retrieve a book voucher oh and to see if I'm in their records.  Apparently, they've been having trouble with my financial crap, not only b/c of FAFSA, but b/c Sacred Heart didn't have me in their records.  I didn't exist, at least that was what I was told.  But keep it on the DL b/c I don't think that they want mistakes like that being brought into light.  After being told to basically get lost from the financial lady in the next office, I waited outside for a bit until Jeff sent me in.  He's actually a pretty nice guy, a pretty nice guy with hippie sunglasses.  All and all, I was able to get my book voucher.  Sweetness.

At 10:30, I had to head to HC110 to meet with all the computer science teachers and to sit in an introduction to some new textbook.  Fun, right?  My old CS prof wanted me to sit in b/c it would be a great oppurtunity for me to meet the other professors and to have an inside look at the new text (I'm still going to be a CLA, I should be shot).  Any-hoo, first walked in, had a group stare at me, and then they went back to trying to get the internet back online.  So funny, well for me, not so much for them.  Prof. McCloud, my old CS prof, finally came and he gave a me a copy of the new text, CDs and all.  Oh joy.  A lot of the profs gave the woman a hard time during her presentation.  She works for the publishing company and she was just there to point out the new additions to the text, not to answer questions on teaching methods.  W/e.  Also, talk about how their department lost funding was brought up again, I've been hearing about it for a while so I'm a little tired of it.  Oh and whoopee, Prof. McCloud kept hyping me up to the rest of the group so now they can trust me with everything b/c I have very "capable slender shoulders".  Yeah it sounded weird to me too.  *shudders*  I was so happy when it ended at 11:17 b/c I had to meet mom for lunch at 11:30.  They did invite me to have lunch at some shell restaurant in Stratford, their treat and they'd provide me a ride.  Mom didn't like that idea so I was having lunch with her.

Had lunch with her and told her about how, since they lost funding and had to lose a guy at the reference desk in the library, I'm going to be sitting in his place.  Oh joy.  I'm screwed.  I'm pretty sure I met the woman whose students kept seeing me last semester b/c she was unclear in her instructions.  I think she doesn't like me.  Yay, friends.  Any-hoo, we went out for lunch and then she headed back to campus.  I held onto the car keys b/c I had to put my books and my laptop in the trunk when I received them.   I ran into Stephy, who was trying to send me a text message, lol.  We ate lunch in big FLIK and then headed off to the book store to finally get my books.  Every class except for one required some kind of text.  I'm becoming more and more afraid of my Shakespeare class.  Nerves of mush, indeed, indeed.

Went to the car to put them away and then headed back to Hawley.  We were just going to wait until 2 to see if Jackie came and then head to the UC to trade for my new laptop.  We found a Dave Garahan instead, lol, and he hung out with us for a while.  It was 15 minutes past and Stephy was telling us to go down there, so we left and we see that there was a line.  Stephy did the "I told you so" thing but it really wasn't that bad.  It was like the Black Eyed Peas ticket line, it was long but it moved swimmingly well.  Stephy left to check if Jackie had come so that left Dave and me to catch up.  Stephy came back but stayed to talk with Maria who was a couple people behind us.  lol, I started making this running joke about Dave's arms being guns b/c I misinterpreted what he was trying to say.  So funny.  When it was our turn, we grabbed our laptops and headed out.  We sat with Mrs. Ferrucci while waiting for Maria and Stephy.  We all went inside Hawley and set up there.  Well at least Dave did.  Maria and Stephy came a bit afterwards and Maria and I had trouble.  Dave fiddled with mine for a bit and said "hmm, I guess pressing random buttons doesn't work".

-_-

Stephy kept insisting on going back to the UC.  We did and Maria and I waited a bit until we found someone to help us.  My guy ended up leaving anyhoo and he was stressed like hell.  I ended up with the guy who apparently built the network.  He said that mine was weird and that he had to rewrite something.  Then he called in some younger guy to check if my computer worked.  He was so cute.  I think his name is Steven but narrows it down to wow not much at all.  :P  Well my laptop seemed to be working and it had to restart.  The IT peeps were also cleaning up so I had to book it.  Maria had already left and Stephy had left to buy movie tickets so her bag was still with me.  So I grabbed both her bag and mine, plus my laptop box.  I headed back to Hawley and saw a Jackie!  Sweetness.  Dave was still there and the three of us talked for a while.  I was going to check on my laptop but then Stephy came in saying that I had 3 minutes to buy a discount movie ticket for Jackie.  So I went upstairs, bought the ticket, and gave it to Jackie.  Stephy was really out of sorts, makes me worried.  She said that she was going to stand outside the UC and wait for peeps we knew to ask if they were going to see the movie with us.  No laptop checky, so Dave and Jackie accompanied me back to the car.  I got two pics of the two b/c I thought Dave was leaving for work but he said that he had time so he went back to Hawley with us.  Kruti, Alyssa, Gabe, and Racelle met us there.  Saw Alyssa's new MAC, very pretty.  Stephy brought my cue so Gabe and I shared it and actually played a game.

I was out of practice to say the least.  It's going to be a while before I get to my level of "good".  He had to run out for RA stuff so I played with Dave and Jackie.  Soon, Dave had to leave and it was just Jackie and me.  When we finished our game, we thought dinner was a good plan.  Mall was suggested but then turned down for FLIK food, yeah how often does that happen.  We ate in the big FLIK again and then left b/c Racelle got cold and we were all done eating.  Well except for Stephy who only had an energy bar and one of my cookies.  Oh yeah, Thursday I made chocolate thumbprint cookies.  They tasted better than they looked.  No semen involved.   Anyhoo, so Stephy was still hungry so we were going back to eating at the mall.  Racelle was tired or just didn't plan on going.  I'm not sure, but we bid her farewell.  We had to make a pit stop at J-Hill, and Jackie just kept moving the car back and forth, lol.  Good times.  When we finally made it to the mall, Jackie and Stephy were the only ones that ate and they both happened to eat at Taco Bell.  Yucky.  After they finished, we headed to the Crown Marquis.  Shaun and Jesse met us there.

Brooks you'll be happy to know that we went to see Snakes on A Plane.  Jackie and I both agreed it was the worst movie ever.  Also that I scream too much.  She even screamed just b/c she knew I would.  Stupid movie.  The movie got out at 9:30 so Jackie and I had to leave.  We had to wait for Stephy so I could give her my pool cue.  We said our good byes and Jackie and I were off, well after we followed them back to the merrit.  So much fun.  We're definitely going to see more of each other this semester, as long as I give her more of a heads up next time around.

Yesterday was okay.  I tried out my laptop and low and behold it doesn't work.  I'm thinking that I should have turned my laptop on again when I was on campus.  So I didn't hear the end of it from dad and Kuya b/c they really wanted to play with my new toy.  I now have to go back to campus on Monday but mom has a shortened schedule so I won't be there for too long.  She's working 10-2.  We went to Milford Mall and to the WalMart in Derby.  Oh and we ate at Unos.  I don't like that place but w/e.

We were supposed to go to all these places today b/c dad didn't want to go yesterday.  Well now it's 10:56, we've been up since 7, and everyone but me is dressed already.  Oh, and I'm going to have to drop a class.  B/c it's inconvenient and unnecessary.  Conflicted once again.

The USA team in FIBA lost to Greece, which was creamed by Spain.  At least USA was able to beat Argentina for the bronze medal.

Start classes in two days.
