Bionic Woman

I recently caved in and watched Bionic Woman. I skipped the Pilot, retooled or not I was too disappointed the first time to give that ep another go, and went straight to Episode Two - which featured [SPOILER ALERT!] the funeral of the most engaging character from the Pilot; huh?! anyways onto the next episodes. Katee Sackhoff rocks the show! her inner struggles and the twisted love affair with Will Yun Lee's character could've been the base for a seperate show - with riveting characters and fabulous actors. speaking of which, Isaiah Washington gives this show so much strength, with every episode he's in being better and better. that's why I made a conscious choice early on to skip those two eps he's not in entirely. and thus came and went the entire season in 5 somewhat enjoyable, yet occasionally exhaustingly boring eps. also, one must not forget the geeky character of all sci-fi shows (shame on you Mr Eick!), we get Herc from FNL, who's so fun too watch, I completely blocked out the part of how predictable his character actions were. was there humor? not so much. but there were glimpses - like the part with the plant in the shrink's office - that the writers were working on it. all in all, David I'd presume NBC pushed you a bit too quickly to have this show ready; when you obviously needed more time to outline the series and the characters. I won't even mention the sister. oh no, I did! quickly move on....eeeemmm..oh, surprisingly the boss character was less stiffy in the series and actually borderline interesting. but nothing beats the worst casting for the lead actress! seriously, Michelle Ryan is no Jennifer Garner - who made me bawl in the very first episode of Alias, and she's no Yancy Butler (who was wicked good as Sara Pezzini on Witchblade)- whom I was fascinated with after one random scene. it sure will be hard for her to find a next gig after being responsible - though not completely, the writing was wooden too! - for the biggest flop this Fall Season.

I just stumbled upon this little review: Bionic Woman Seems Dogged by Mortal Flaws, where you'll find some pretty fun and insightful comments from the readers. I love this one: They should bring back the Bionic Man starring Isaiah Washington!!! LOL!
