I haven't even seen "Alatriste" yet, but I'm already looking forward to Viggo's next flick, "Eastern Promises." I like it when he plays the sort-of-bad guy (Albino Alligator, American Yakuza, G.I. Jane, A History of Violence). This morning I ran across this interesting tidbit from today's Chicago Sun-Times...

Viggo's tats evoke terror

The N.Y. Post recounts the tale of actor Viggo Mortensen going into a Russian soup counter near the London set of David Cronenberg's new movie "Eastern Promises." It's a picture about the Russian mob and Viggo was adorned with painted-on Russian-gang tattoos. So when he went into this diner "the place went silent, not because of his star power, but because the people recognized the tattoos -- and were appropriately intimidated." But when he spoke in English, not Russian, everyone relaxed.
