Incident last night at the mall...

Lately I've come to realize that it's the parents of annoying and disrespectful children bother me more than the children themselves. It's amazing to me to think about how so many people are all about children and will go to any length to bring them into the world, yet they're the first ones to ignore the terrible behavior. Case in point, last ( Read more... )

I know it's not really the kid's fault for how their parents raise them, and the parent themselves are the ones we should hate, but I still can't stand their kids and I know they'll probably eventually grow up to be another bad parent, so I'll just cut to the chase and hate them now.

I don't like the kids either. Just hit me yesterday that I like the parents less than the kids... It's unreal the way parents let their kids run wild!

You would have just gotte yelled at about how "you must not have children" and "It's impossible to keep an eye on them every living second (even though they were walking TOGETHER)" and "how haaaaaard it is to be a parent!!!" Because we all know how hard and time consuming it is to say 1 little 2 letter word-NO!

Yea, my boyfriend was like please don't say anything, because you'll just end up in an argument with the mom. It's true, I would have and because of exactly what you said, excuses, excuses, excuses.

Whenever I hear that phrase, I want to punch the speaker in their dumb cow mouth. I don't have kids, so I can't possibly have an opinion on what a shitty little brat your spawn is? Give me a farking break. If anything, it ENTITLES me to an opinion, because I'm not blinded by the Mombie Virus.

LOL. Which is precisely why my bf said just let it go, don't say anything to her, because he knew it would be an all out confrontation. He knows I don't respond well to those sorts of comments. I was mad enough just seeing the little fucker committing vandalism.

Hello from Jonesborough!! :-D

And if there's any reason you need to find a CF-friendly women's clinic, try Seasons. :-)

Oh wow, someone near me!! We're over in Bluff City, thanks for advice.

I've been living over here about a year now, originally from NC. Was eventually (when I can afford it) planning on getting a tubal or some sort of permanent birth control solution... Does Seasons do that sort of thing? Or could recommend someone who could.

Yep, they were having problems with Army's Tricare not fully covering Essure (Essure's website is how I found them in the first place), but I ~think~ that's been resolved or is nearing that. The Bristol clinic referred me to the one in Kingsport because of that, hoping they could find a way to cover me. The OBGYN there found my fibroid tumor and did a hysterectomy on me. All is healing well, and I really should write something up about that soon. :-p

The best part? I was asked ONCE by the doctors there if I was sure I didn't want kids, and that was ALL. NO bingos whatsoever. :-) My age (32) might have been a nudge in the "no bingos" direction, but there was NO guff at all.

Wow, see that's great. I'm 28, and so I figure maybe I'm old enough that they won't really bingo me that much. Probably going to start the process later this year. My problem though is I can't decide between Essure and a tubal. I've done some research and still can't decide... I need to get on it though. lol

Aww, I went to college in Bristol. Best Halloween ever was dressing up and Trick or Treating at the mall.

There was this little bar in Bristol, on the TN side, off State Street. The Offshore. That place was awesome.

Used to spend weekends driving 422 through NC, going to Boone to visit friends at the college there. And when we finished hanging out in the dorms we'd hit New Beginnings in Johnson City.

Damn. I'm old.

I loved it there. Such a huge difference from NYC.

And the mountains in fall, God. My dorm room overlooked this huge swath of mountains and some mornings they were so gorgeous it hurt to look at them.

Wow. See, I was raised here, between JC and Jonesborough. :-) Looks like we've got a little local (or at least at some point) CF clan. Very cool!

And I do sometimes also wander up to Banner Elk (I have extended family around there) or down to Asheville.

Having children these days is not about the children, but the parents. It's all about what THEY want and what the child is supposed to do for THEM.

Teaching children manners is too much work and it's inconvenient. They are supposed to be smart enough to magically figure that out by osmosis simply by existing.

You're exactly right, it's about the parents being ENTITLED to have children, and not the children themselves. And that sucks.
