Ollantaytambo was one of the most important Inca fortified sites in the Urubamba valley. Its fortress was the only one to fight off a Spanish attack. As you wil see it's much lusher than Cusco (600m lower down) though not as jungly as Macchu Picchu. Handily it's now the place where one catches the train to Macchu Picchu.
I do seem to appear a disproportionate number of times in these photos.
