So I was listening to Alice (97.3) the other day and they were playing a Three Days Grace song (usually heard on the alternative rock stations). I LOVE the song, so I'm singing along, and I notice that one word has been changed in the song. Its ridiculous, and then it makes me angry, because it takes away the meaning of the ENTIRE song by changing one word.
Here are the original lyrics. Pay close attention to the chorus.:
Never Too Late lyrics
This world will never be what I expected
And if I don't belong, who would have guessed it
I will not leave alone everything that I own
To make you feel like it's not too late
It's never too late
(Chorus)
Even if I say It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
No one will ever see this side reflected
And if there's something wrong
Who would have guessed it
And I have left alone everything that I own
To make you feel like
It's not too late, it's never too late
(Repeat Chorus)
The world we knew
Won't come back
The time we've lost
Can't get back
The life we had
Won't be ours again
This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong
Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late (It's never too late)
It's not too late
It's never too late
So as you can see its KINDA a depressing song. But also a song about hope, and not giving up. On life, on whatever. (At least the way my scienc-y brain can understand it)
So who can guess what word they changed from the chorus?!?! They changed "end" to "taste"
So instead of the line: "Still I hear you say you want to END your life" it is now: "Still I hear you say you want to TASTE your life"
WTF?!?! Ugh, that makes me sooo mad. If you don't want to play the song, fine, don't play the fucking song. But don't go changing a word that changes the entire meaning of the song just to make it more "radio friendly"
And that is my rant for the day....
