Still unemployed.
Increasing paralyzing depression.
Loving friends and family.
Went snowboarding, but hurt my shoulder.
A ridiculously cute little boy.

I found out a couple of weeks ago that I have even less time at my current job than I thought.  Previously, the owner of the company reassured me that he'd find a place for me to use my skills or even learn new ones.

I'm trying out a Burley bike trailer that someone onewhohugstrees  knows is going to sell to us.
I bought 0_dub a helmet today and we took a ride.

OK, I've been slacking on posting.

I've just been working (for da monies), exercising (for da sanity) and spending time with 0_dub (for da love).  As a matter of fact, I ran my very first race (5K) last Sunday.

I received a call a little while ago from someone at a pizza place (Cosmic Pizza) saying that they'd found keys with a dog tag that had "Atticus" and my phone number on it.  This isn't weird in itself.  What struck me as weird about it initially was that my keys were neither lost nor attached to a dog tag.  Then I recalled that onewhohugstrees  lost her's right ( Read more... )

I just spent six days back in SoCal, where I grew up.  It was, ostensibly, a vacation, but I took my laptop with me and did some work when I could piggyback on someone's unencrypted wifi.  It's not the first place I'd choose to spend my meager paid time off.  It's not even in the top ten.  It's ugly down there.  Seems worse each time I go down ( Read more... )

I had my first father's day where I was an actual father.  Pretty nifty.

It was nice and laid back.  I strapped The Boy to my back and we did some yard work.  Thinned out the front bamboo grove and helped our super nice neighbor trim the GIANT laurel hedges that separate our properties.  At lunch, onewhohugstrees, angiela_la, 0_dub & and I (Atticus too) had a nice picnic lunch ( Read more... )
