That's One For the Books

Aug 23, 2005 23:01

I remember walking out of MHS one day. On the way out, I heard the hall monitor tell another one "Well, that's one for the books" meaning the day's over. It's been recorded. Nobody can change it. It is what it is. So let me tell you about what has just gone down in the record books. There is so much new shit going on this year that it is unbelievable.

These are the things that look like they need to be fixed. Seminar, moment of silence/pledge thing, allowing failing kids to stay in class and be disciplinary problems cause study halls do not exist anymore, oh and did I mention seminar?

That's where the student body needs to start. We need to get seminar back to the way it was. I won't stand for this. And neither should you. And you know what you don't have to. I believe where there's a will there's a way. That is, as long as you can be civilized/organized about it. We can do this if we do it the right way. I am thinking of plans on how to remedy this situation. Call me crazy, but I don't want to start anything until friday after school when I know for sure how this seminar thing works. I want to see it play out one day before I go pissing and moaning and working to change it. Because seeing it's downsides will make it easier to argue for getting seminar back to the way it was.

I am a senior. We are seniors. And we don't have to stand for this. Remember how Mishawaka is all about tradition? Well, Marzotto just broke the number one cardinal rule at MHS. You don't mess with tradition.

Later

(oh, classes are good. alltold is looking great and well, my english class is being changed but there is a reason--IU credits)
