Today was going well. I got the kids to 24 Hour Fitness, I did my whole workout, chatted with another parent, even planned an excursion with her and her children to Planet Pizza (no relation to Toy Story's Pizza Planet, this one has a dino as the mascot). Then, as we were leaving to head home (about 2:30), the van wouldn't start. It only made clicking noises. I managed to catch my friend and we were able to jump start the van. I ran home, but didn't shut off the van, and picked up snacks and books for the kids and then headed to Toyota of Plano. The battery was from them so I thought it might have some warranty left. We arrived by 3:20 but were told it could take 1.5 hours to get done. There were A LOT of heat related issues going around. So we sat down in the kid waiting area. Sadly, in their newly redesigned kid waiting area, complete with a flat panel TV on the wall and small tables and chairs, it only had standard antenna, not cable. And even PBS couldn't come in. It was left on a weather channel. Luckily, the wait ended up being only 40 minutes. Sadly, there was no warranty on the battery. So, $135 later, I have a new battery and a recipe from Chris for some really good margaritas.
Now to fix dinner and shove the kids into bed. I need a drink.
