Ok, I admit it.  I have read all of the original Conan novels that Robert E. Howard wrote.  He wrote a character that was much more fleshed out than that stupid Hollywood Arnold-Conan ever was.  He never had to avenge his father's death.  He was just bored with the cold life and wanted to be an adventurer.  I also admit that I am not looking forward to the new Conan movie coming out in August.  It has a pretty boy in the lead role.  Yes, he has a rock hard body that I wouldn't mind bouncing a few coins on.  But Conan was not pretty.  He had raw magnetism that drew women to him.  That and the money he threw around after he had pillaged some evil magic user.  This movie seems to be reusing the same tired story of "boy must avenge his daddy" that the first one had.  Yawn.  Please, Hollywood, come up with something new!

And now I find out that Rose McGowen, one of my least favorite actresses, is in it.  Bleh.  I think I may wait for it to be shown on SyFy.
