A sad confession and an apology
I have a sad confession to make. I think it is my fault that vampires have become glittery.
My friend, hergrace , posted a comic strip that featured the characters depicting vampires as using lots of hair product, had hard six pack abs, and used a lot of glitter. It brought back an embarrassed memory from the early 90's. sigh. I was one of the sad fan girls who read Silhouette Shadows romance novels. It was fun back then. Geek girls had few outlets for their romantic side. Let's face it, while I love Han and Leia, passion is not their strong point. These romance novels (and I use that term loosely, they were actually thinly veiled soft porn) offered us the chance to see witches, warlocks, werewolves, vampires, and other paranormal things in a sexy light. The series only lasted 3 years but I think its' impact has snowballed and today has become "Twilight".
So I wish to extend my sincerest apologies for helping to create the beast that is glittery vampires.
