Toy Story 3

We took the kids to see Toy Story 3 yesterday.  It was a great movie.  As usual, Pixar has crafted a movie that makes everyone happy.

Except Natalie.  This one was far too intense for her.  She is easily scared and was crying quietly in my shoulder wanting to leave.  It started with the mean toys at the day care.  She seemed so little and fragile when she climbed into my lap.  She was terrified during the trash dump scenes and didn't want to look at anything until the little green guys saved everyone.  After that, she was fine.  Even Sam was freaked out by that.  The kids loved it (even with the scary bits) and so did we.  My personal cannon is that when Bonnie gets older and wants to part with the toys that she calls Andy, who has just gotten married and is going to start a family.  He happily takes the toys back into his world and they continue to be played with for a long time to come.

And I am also convinced that Bonnie is an older version of Boo from "Monsters, Inc."  Chris and I stumbled onto the theory after we had left the theater so we couldn't check out her closet door.  But she just feels like Boo.  She seems to be about 4/5 (around the twin's age) and Boo was slightly younger.  Since this can take place any time that Pixar wants it to, we think it is her.

The short at the beginning (Day and Nigh)  was fun but not as good as some of the earlier shorts.  It was very well crafted but I don't think the kids enjoyed it as much as the adults did.  It was aimed at an older crowd.

Tonite we go to Evan's rehearsal dinner.  Chris is a grooms man in the wedding on Sunday afternoon.  Both rehearsal and wedding reception are booze free.  Oh, joy.  Chris' parents are going to watch them for us this evening.  We will drop them off at 4 and pick them up after the dinner.  They can come to the wedding so that saves us.
