Damn!
I am in quite a pissy mood. I went back to Bally's Total Fitness this morning and discovered that the place is closing down. The lease is up and not being renewed. Then I found out the kid club (nursery) is closing on the 5th. There goes my work out routine.
The closest club is about 15 miles away, at least 20-30 minutes of driving if I don't hit traffic. I have been a member since October 1987, with U.S. Swim and Fitness in Minneapolis until it was bought by Bally's (or they changed the names over, I don't know which). I upgraded my membership in 1995 when I moved to Dallas. I currently pay less than $25 a month and it included child care for 2 hours. I can't go to the other location but I can cancel my membership. I have no idea where to go now. A local club stuck fliers under windshield wipers today. I may check them out. There is a 24 hour fitness across the street from Bally's. I guess it is time to check them out, too.
For the life of me, I am not sure what the owner of the mall thinks they can do with a 2 story building with a pool and sauna. The club in Dallas opened up around the time we moved here and I have not heard glowing reports about it.
