Virginia has officially begun her first day of kindergarden! We got up early, got dressed, ate, even brushed her teeth and then headed off to school. She wore her new Fancy Nancy backpack and carried her new Kai-Lan lunchbox. She is so excited. I got a big hug and then she was meeting her teacher and the other students. She has her own locker with a tucan on it. She gave her brother and sister hugs and then pretty much dismissed us. As we headed out, I was (and am) dry eyed. However Natalie was a bit upset. But we stopped in the library for some juice and donuts and then things were a bit better.
Here are some pictures.
That is her teacher in the dress. She is pinning on her name tag. The twins will be eating lunch and taking a nap earlier in the day since I have to wake them at 2:30 each day to go pick up Virginia. School begins at 7:45 am and ends at 2:45 pm. I've been told that they even get home work. But since Virginia enjoys reading I am hoping that it won't be too much of a time drain.
Last night we went to a party at a friends house. Her daughter is also starting kindergarden today and she decided to thow a party to make it more special. She said that she will be a basket case today. I have a feeling many parents were more teary once out of sight of their kids.
Well, today I get to choose between mowing the lawn (it needs it) or working on the desktop during nap time. I think I will go with the desktop computer. I have been having some scary drops in my blood pressure in the mornings for the last few weeks especially after exercising. I think spreading the physical activity out over a few days may be in my best interest.
I am off to enjoy the morning. It is funny how quiet it is in the house. The twins do fight with each other but not as much as when Virginia is added to the mix. She really missed being in school.
