We're All Mad Here - But We Like to Share

Oct 12, 2010 23:17

I have goodies to share. Three houses and two stories.

Hey, what do you know, people are actually insterested in seeing what is behind your cut. Or they must be very bored.

I have been having a heck of a time with LJ. And I'm not happy with Photobucket because I have had to sit on a lot of stuff I wanted to post because I guess I was out of bandwidth at Photobucket. Of course, tinypic is just another branch of Photobucket. Then I signed up for imageshack and waited and waited and waited for my confirmation letter that I NEVER got.

My imagination is overflowing these days, so all the time I spend futzing with this craziness is rather unproductive. So, I have to quickly try to put some of my ideas into action before I forget the ideas.

That's because you are old. Old folks forget stuff all the time.

Well, no, I am not that old. But stress and being sick can really throw wrenches in plans and thoughts.

Anyhow. Back to business.

Lots for TS2

The three lots I have available for download are residential. The credits are in the zip files.

Gentle Storm Manor
30x50 Residential
Value: Under 35,000

Features: Two bedrooms, 2 large full baths, attached garage, covered entrance, large patio for dining and entertaining, covered balcony overlooking patio and backyard pond, room for gardening and expanding.

The lot is unfurnished and without landscaping. It is basically just a shell for you to have fun with and change to suit your own tastes. Download Gentle Storm Manor from Mediafire

Sunnybridge Manor
40x50 Residential
Value: Under 45,000

Features: 2+bedroom, 2 full baths, attached garaged, spacious patio, 2 spacious balconies, pond, large foyer, family room, guest bedroom/study, room to expand, room to garden.

You should know that I used the CFE cheat to attach the garage to the foundation house, so don't use bold colors or bold patterns if you choose to change the wallpaper of the front of the garage.

The lot is unfurnished and without landscaping. It is basically just a shell for you to have fun with and change to suit your own tastes.

CC is minimal. Download Sunnybridge Manor from Mediafire

Coniglio Manor
50x40 Residential
Value: Under 70,000
Created by cheshirekat

Features: 3+ bedrooms, 3+ large full baths, driveway with room for a garage, covered patio entrance, separate large patio for dining and entertaining, covered balconies on 3 floors, pond is not fenced in, room for gardening and expanding.

The lot is unfurnished, but has entrance lighting and minimal landscaping in the front of the house.

Each bedroom has a closet and is spacious enough for a double bed or more than one single bed. The first three levels have room outside the bedrooms to accommodate closets or crib rooms for a quickly growing family. On the second floor, the small crib room/closet is already in place but can easily be enlarged to make an interesting shaped bedroom/music room/study. On the first and third floors, you will need to decide where to add walls to enclose the extra space to make your closet or crib room.

There is a fourth floor that is useable for whatever you want, if you add floors and stairs, or a ladder. I added the fourth floor simply to accommodate the "look" I wanted when placing the roof. Keep this in mind if you make a closet/small bedroom out of the extra space on the third floor. That is also why there aren't many windows on the fourth floor. By all means, add some if you think it makes the house look odd and unbalanced without more windows on the fourth floor.

There is some cc, but I tried to keep it minimal.

I don't know where the Proventech outdoor street lights came from. This is one of the maxis/ea recolors I'd use more often but usually avoid because I can't give credit to the things I really like a lot. If anyone knows, let me know. The recolor fits more of my lots more than the original colors. Download Coniglio Manor from Mediafire

(Probably one or two pictures per lot. If I run out of photobucket bandwidth, you will just have to wait until I have more bandwidth to see the pictures.)

Stories

Gentle Storm Story Gentle Storm - story
Sunnybridge Manor Story Sunnybridge Manor - story
I don't have a story for Coniglio Manor, but if my head produces one, I'll add it later.

Tell them they can right-click to read the story in their web browser if they don't want to download!

I actually think you have to right-click if you want to download the .rtf file, otherwise, your web browser will automatically try to display the text for you to read. I think that is how my browser works. If I'm wrong, then you now know that you have to do the opposite, how hard is that?

The stories don't really involve sims. Well, only in my head. They do have characters, but they are just simple stories to help jump-start your imagination if you are stuck on new ideas for your sims. Or, you can just read them because reading is fun. The stories aren't as short as those I've posted to GoS. I whittled those down so I wouldn't get in trouble for a long post. I make up the stories as I'm building a house. The only time I don't have a story with a house is when I get interrupted for some reason and have the house finished before I can complete the story. Then I have writer's block and have to make changes to the house and story to get over the block. But by that time, I've already packaged the house and my story may not quite fit the house already packaged.

Well, it won't fit for me - people downloading will probably never notice the difference since they never see my lot edits. That is why I have so many lots to share. I make a house, package it, then stuff it into my lot bin. Then I'll start editing the lot for my game and end up with another idea and quickly begin making a new house or community lot. Then I end up with a few unfinished lots, but I try not to have more than four unfinished lots in my game.

So, when I say I am sitting on unfinished lots, some are already made, some are half made, and others are still in my head but I am supressing them because I don't want a bunch of unfinished lots cluttering my 'hoods. Because I can see them when I am playing or building and it is distracting.

Keep in mind that my idea of "finished" is that all the walls are up, it has a roof, and it has all the interior and exterior paints, doors and windows - with a few exceptions, of course. I don't upload lots with clutter because for me that is personal. I like my clutter. I don't like anyone else's clutter. I don't want anyone to hate a lot just because it has clutter they have to clear out or fix up the way they like. I make clutter for some of my houses, but basically, I'm a minimalist, especially when my sims move into a house. Adding clutter is a process that must develop with the sim/family. For community lots, I add enough stuff to make it useable, but rarely do much decorating until my sims use it a few times. And I never upload lots that have been played or have had a sim step foot onto the property.

Once in a while, I may reproduce a lot that I really liked, but I never copy/clone the original lot - I build it from scratch on a new lot.

If that made sense to anyone, they are as crazy as you are. But I'm sure no one is that crazy.

Yeah. Whatever.

Enjoy the lots and stories everyone!

You can do whatever you want with my lots/stories. However, if you upload my stuff to a paysite, then you automatically agree to give me half the profits you earn from the paysite during the months my stuff is available for download on that paysite. Even if my stuff is only available for one day in the month, you still owe me half of all your earnings from all files you have uploaded to that paysite, not just from my stuff - for being such a crook to try to make money off of another person's work during that month. In addition, you have to give me credit so the whole world knows you are a crook because I would never agree to have my stuff uploaded to a paysite, or I would have put them there myself. I think that is only fair.

If you upload my stuff to a free site, then I hope you will give me credit so I can know the thrill of someone looking me up just to say thanks. You can let me know (a link) so I can get all twitterpated over seeing that someone liked my stuff enough to make it available for others. But, giving me credit is not required and I certainly don't want anyone to stress (like I do) because they may have forgotten to give credit or a link for something. Sharing is supposed to be fun.
