FanFic: Forever Yours (Chapter 4)

“That was really fun“, laughed Koyama while all of News walked down the street.

“That was first of all too much cake. I feel a little queasy”, smiled Tegoshi.

Immediately all guys were gathered around him.

“Tegoshi, you’re okay, right?”, asked Massu careful.

“I ate just a little too much, Massu. Don’t worry, I’m alright!”

“I could have eaten your cake too. Ask next time, okay?”

All members began to smile.

“Massu, you’re not worried about Tegoshi, are you? You are just unhappy because you wanted to eat his cake, too!”, said Yamapi while he smirked.

Massu didn’t said a thing and pouted.

Tegoshi feels bad. Why is it not okay if I worry about him? After all it’s my fault.

“… don’t you think so, Massu?” Koyama looked inquiring at him.

“Hm?”

“Eh, Massu, don’t dream of any food! I asked if we should return to work?”

“Hai. Why do you ask me and not Yamapi?” Massu was confused.

“You seemed absent”, answered Koyama and grinned. “Come on Shige, catch me if you can!”

Koyama grabbed for Shige’s pocket and took out his purse before he ran forward.

“Koyama, I’ll kill you!”, shouted Shige while he started to run after his friend. He laughed.

“Nursery childs!”, shouted Ryo. But they were already too far away to hear him.

* * * * *

They reached fast the apartment. All of them went inside and walked into the bandroom.

“Eeeh! Shige, that’s not fair! You’ve won the third time! Are you cheating?”

They played ‘Rock Scissor Paper’.

“Koyama said just now that he will do the clearance for this room for a whole week. Isn’t it a nice treat from him?” Shige smirked while Koyama looked very unhappy.

“So, we have a free afternoon, ne?”, asked Yamapi while he nestled on the sofa.

“Tegoshi, do you want to drink something?”

Since Tegoshi was back from the hospital Massu treated him very nice. He anticipated every wish of him and asked for nearly everything he could do. He wanted to calm his bad conscience. All he could do was to care about his best friend.

He asked me all day, ne? How could I say it without hurting him? I don’t need any help anymore. I’m fine. Why doesn’t Massu understand this?

“Massu .. it’s alright. If I need something, I will get it myself, okay? I’m not that weak anymore and ..”

“TEGONYAN!” Ryo jumped spirited off his chair and looked exspectant at him.

“How about practicing the dance steps together? Now?”

Tegoshi nodded. “Great idea, Nishikido-kun. I think I need some help there. It wouldn’t be amiss.”

He stood up, ignoring the sad look of Massu.

“Let’s go”, said Ryo active and walked out of the room.

* * * * *

“What in the world am I doing wrong?”, asked Massu. He  posed the question to no one specific ‘cause he was sitting without any movement on the sofa. Koyama and Shige are giggling in a corner of the room and Yamapi was reading an article about ‘How to say ‘I love you’ the right way’. So Massu didn’t expect any answers.

“Massu, don’t exaggerate with your care for Tegoshi. He’s the youngest member, you know it. And I think he doesn’t want to be handled like someone younger. Like someone who can’t fend for himself. You understand? You’re treating him like he’s still ill. But, see: He was happy to practice the steps with Ryo. Although you want to, you shouldn’t help him that much. You’ll achieve the opposite of his behaviour as you wanted. Get what I mean? Tegoshi is a grown-up. He can care for himself.”

While he was talking Yamapi haven’t looked up from his magazine. He still seemed to be reading concentrated his article.

“So, you mean I should ignore him?” Massu turned his head towards Yamapi.

“I didn’t say that. Just be careful with your actions. If you’ll treat him like you are his parent instead of treating him as a friend and have fun with him, he’ll feel uncomfortable with you next time. And then he won’t have time for you anymore. Get it?”

“Hai.”  Massu had a morose look. “I’ll treat Tegoshi like a friend. I’m his best friend!”

* * * * *

“Chotto Matte, Nishikido-kun! Matte! I haven’t seen the last step. I think I learned it wrong.

Look. Am I doing it right?”

Tegoshi began to dance. Ryo watched all of his steps carefully in the big mirror. The room for practice was ordinary with parquet and a huge glass inside. Tegoshi’s actions were clear to see in the glass.

“Eh, stop, Tegoshi. Just the last one was wrong. See? Ichi, Ni, San, Ichi, Ni, San! Okay? Try it once more.”

Tegoshi began to dance another time and paid attention to every action he did. “Nishikido-kun? Was it better?”

“Hai, you did really good. Let’s try the other steps. Together .. Ichi, Ni, San!”

“Ah, I get it. Arigatou gozaimasu! Can we try it one more time in a row?”, he asked while he practiced still in front of the mirror.

“Yes, concentrate Tegonyan. You’ll do perfect tomorrow at the performance. You’ll be the best dancer, ne?”

Tegoshi laughed out loud. “Hai, Nishikido-kun! I will!”

This time Tegoshi was the one to count in. “Ichi, Ni, San!”

The music started. It was a medley of  NEWS songs like ‘Weeeek’, ‘Taiyou No Namida’ and also their new single ‘Summer Time’.

“Perfect, Tegoshi! You’re doing well!”, praised Ryo out of breath while he was dancing.

“Eeeh, stop, stop! Have I praised you too early?”, he laughed and started the music again.

He placed himself directly behind Tegoshi. He was so close that he could pose his chin on the shoulder of Tegoshi.

“So, let’s do it together”, he said. Ryo put his hands on Tegoshi’s hips and moved them slowly to the right side.

“Ichi, Ni”, he repeated slowly. “Now raise your hand up.”

Tegoshi raised his hand like Ryo said but he was too fast and hit Ryo on the face.

“Nishikido-kun, gomen nasai! It was my fault! Sorry! Does it hurt? Should I get an ice pack?”

Ryo took the hand of his face, light smiling.

“I think it’s alright. I’m a man, you know. Just a little scratch.”

Tegoshi looked worried at him but Ryo ignored his gaze and placed himself right behind his dance follower. He felt the hesitation of Tegoshi.

“Tegonynan, admit it! You’ve done it only because you want to revenge me, right? Because I frightened you and you got hurt from the table?”

Tegoshi hardened himself. But then he noticed the smile of Ryo and he relaxed.

“Hai, Nishikido-kun, I am even with you.”

Ryo laughed. Finally! This damn thing what was standing between them was out of the world. It felt very good.

He placed his hands again on Tegoshi’s hips.

“Ichi, Ni, San .. To the right .. Raise your hand .. turn around .. Tegoshi, you’re doing well!

Let’s try again with music?”

He turned the music on and began to dance.

“Ah, damn! Now am I the one who’s making the wrong steps!”, shouted Ryo with a big smile.

“May I help you?”, asked Tegoshi giggling. Tegoshi stood behind Ryo, grabbed his hand and turned him around.

“That’s not the choreography, Tegonyan”, laughed Ryo.

“I know”, smiled Tegoshi while he danced something like Cha-Cha-Cha with Ryo. “But it’s fun, isn’t it?”

The door opened and Massu gazed into the room.

“Ryo, telephone for you!”

Tegoshi noticed his irritated look and let immediately go of Ryo’s hand.

Ryo gave an apologetic look to Tegoshi and turned towards the door.

“I’m waiting here, okay? I’m going to practice some more, Nishikido-kun.”

“I’ll return soon”, he smiled before he went through the door, past Massu who looked as he just has seen a ghost.

* * *

“Moshi Moshi?”

“Ryo-chan?”

“Ah, imouto. Ogenki desu-ka?“

“Genki desu, same as usual, Ryo. And you?”

“At the moment I’m feeling more than great. How is ...”

“When are you coming?”

“I can’t! How often did I already say it!?”

“Ryo, are you sure, you’re doing the right thing? Maybe it’s your last chance. Think careful about it, please. Oniisan! Be aware of your time. Don’t take it too long, oniisan. Then it’s maybe too late.”

“Don’t call me again. Don’t call me again, you understand!?”

Ryo hang up.

* * *

“Tegoshi, you’re perfect with your steps. You haven’t done any mistakes during the whole performance. Why you’re still practicing? It’s only a waste of time, ne?”

Tegoshi kept silent for a while.

“I practiced with Nishikido-kun for this result. You should be happy that I’m perfect with the choreography, ne Massu?”

He looked carefully at his friend but Massu turned his head away. It seemed to him as Tegoshi wanted to spend more time with Ryo.

In front of Ryo, he isn’t perfect. But when I’m here, then he hasn’t one mistake. He doesn’t want to spend time with me, ne?

“So, I don’t need to practice anymore?”

Massu shook his head.

“You’ve done well.”

Tegoshi walked towards the door but stopped as he heard footsteps outside the door. He recognized Ryo’s steps and ‘cause they were very forceful he guessed that Ryo wasn’t in a good mood. He stepped a little back from the door. He was alright because in the next moment the door opened full of verve. Ryo gazed inside the room and looked at Tegoshi. His look was nice, but Tegoshi could see the bother in his eyes.

“Dou shita .. “, he began to ask but Ryo interrupted him.

“Tegoshi, you’re doing good, ne? I don’t have time to practice with you anymore, okay? If you’re unsure, ask Massu. You know, he’s one of the best dancers. I’m proud of you!”

“Nishikido-kun, tell me what ..”  The door closed.
