Part 2:
Kazuya was a student who had transferred over to Tokyo from Chiba, following the steps of his childhood friend, Koki. When he got into this school, he became friends with Koki’s friends as well. They were Nakamaru, Tatsuya, Junno and Jin. He could get along with the first three easily and soon, within a few short weeks, they mingled around like they were long lost friends who have met up only recently.
However, the only one he couldn’t get along with naturally was Jin. He didn’t understand why too. Was it because of Jin’s character or was it Jin’s actions? Or was it the way Jin behaved around him? Or was it because of the way Jin has always nagged at him over a variety of things? Or was it…
Was it because of… his feelings towards Jin?
Kazuya shook his head hard to get rid of any haphazard nasty thoughts from his mind. It couldn’t be.
Anyway, back to the issue of searching for a place to stay, it was unfortunate for him as Tatsuya was living with Junno while Koki and Nakamaru shared an apartment together too. So he was only left with Jin since the latter was living all alone in his big apartment.
Primarily when Koki was negotiating with Jin to allow Kazuya to stay with him, Jin appeared to be reluctant and he rejected that idea. He didn’t like to share his apartment as he’s a person who loves cleanliness and tidiness, and most importantly, he’s used to living alone.
However, it changed when he finally got to meet Kazuya in person, there’s a kind of unusual attraction, a kind of sparkle that emitted from Kazuya and shot right through his heart, and subsequently making Jin melted and finally gave in when Kazuya used his kicked puppy eyes, blasting it to the fullest at him.
Part of the reason why Kazuya could gain Jin’s trust was because Jin trusted Koki. That was why he didn’t mind to live with Kazuya, a part of his cheeky side was even congratulating himself that Kazuya became his roommate as Jin didn’t really want Kazuya to share apartment with anyone else other than himself.
However, it wasn’t even a week yet when Jin had snapped at Kazuya a couple of times for littering their living room with chips. What accelerated Jin’s nightmare was Kazuya always tend to forget about washing his clothes and tidy up the apartment when it was supposedly to be his duty. Therefore, the initial beautiful sensations they had of each other when they first met, were immediately being developed into horrible feelings.
If you were to ask Jin, how many times has he been going out with Kazuya and his friends, Jin could point out the number to you with his fingers effortlessly.
Jin was a person who didn’t really like to go out to have fun without completing his homework and assignments whereas Kazuya was the total opposite, he certainly didn’t mind it at all. Hence when Kazuya suggested going out and having fun today after school, Jin was the first to reject that offer.
“I don’t want to.” Jin deadpanned.
“It’s okay! It will still be fun with or without you.” Kazuya mumbled and packed his things into his bag.
Jin mirrored the same action and began to pack his stuffs as well without saying anything else.
“Oh come on, Jin, don’t be a spoiler. Come with us this time. It’s been long since we catch a movie together.” Koki insinuated.
“Yeah, come along. I heard that it’s a nice horror movie.” Tatsuya added.
“No, thanks. I think it will be better if I go home now and try to finish up my report since I will be alone for now.” Meaning, Kazuya’s out so it would be serene at home, a definite perfect time to do work peacefully, without any disturbance. He carried his bag on his shoulder and looked back at his good-willed friends.
“Ahh, despite his strong look, he’s actually a coward eh? Using this as an excuse, not wanting to go with us is simply because he’s afraid of horror films.” Kazuya laughed out in mockery.
Jin, who heard this perfectly well, turned and narrowed his eyes dangerously at Kazuya. “Who said so?”
Kazuya stood up to him in defiant; the tip of his nose touching the other’s and dared in oblivious. “I said so.”
Jin raised one of his eyebrows sarcastically and adjusted the strip on his shoulder. “I’m sure you will be the first one to shriek the hell out like a little girl.”
Kazuya snorted irately and challenged Jin confidently. “Oh really? Wanna come along and prove it then? Hmm, Jinjin?”
Nakamaru started off uncertainly. “Kame, don’t do this…”
But he was interrupted by Jin flatly. “Fine.” Jin put down his bag on the desk and looked at Kazuya straight in his eyes, “what will I get in return?”
Kazuya shrugged off in a carefree manner. “Anything. What do you want?”
Tatsuya murmured lowly to nobody. “You wouldn’t want to say that to Jin, Kame.”
Jin, on the other hand, observed Kazuya for some moments before smirking evilly all of a sudden that caused Kazuya to get suspicious of his answer. “The first person to freak out will have to give a kiss to the other party willingly,” Jin declared and tapped gently on his lips, insinuating something, “on the lips.” He ended smugly when he saw Kazuya’s stunned expression.
The smaller man stuttered out in astonishment. “H-huh? A kiss? W-why?”
Kazuya got horrified and panicked at the thought of losing his kiss. His… first kiss. He pouted at the fact on why should he give his first kiss away so easily? In such a lousy bet? Even if the other party was… Akanishi Jin.
“Yes? You want to chicken out now? You still have enough time to do it.” Jin ridiculed, tapping on the surface of his watch elegantly as a disdain act.
Kazuya stared at Jin wide-eyed, eyes burning with defiant fury. He couldn’t lose to Jin, it concerned his manly pride!
Junno called out to Kazuya timidly. “Kame-chan…”
Awkward silence pursued for a longer moment. Everyone became uneasy and thought of stopping Kazuya before he would do anything rash.
Nakamaru solicited. “Kame, this is not a good idea. Stop this now.”
Never test or challenge Akanishi Jin. He would be sure to get his hands on what he wants. Someone had just conveniently forgot to remind Kazuya that.
Koki followed up on what Nakamaru had told Kazuya. “Yeah, you know, it’s a horror mov-”
But Kazuya was obstinate, so he cut off Koki’s sentence straight with his very self-proclaimed smart answer. “I think it’s a very good idea! I’m so not going to retreat just because of this stupid bet! You fat idiot! Just you wait and see!”
So what if it’s about his first kiss? Hell, he was being challenged! His pride was on the stake. No way was he going to back out now when he had declared his challenge.
Jin smirked again. “Let’s go then.” He signaled for everyone to come along without knowing anything about Kazuya’s first kiss….

“So when can I collect my prize, Ka-zu-ya?” Jin snickered smugly beside the said person while they were walking out from the theatre.
‘Finally, Jin. You’re really a genius. Now, you can get your hands on your ‘prize’ without doing any thing too suspicious. Nobody will suspect that you actually likes……… wait! What the hell am I thinking? I don’t like Kamenashi Kazuya! I was just teasing him!’ Jin tried to assure himself and shook his head hard to clear off any unwanted thoughts.
‘Yeah right, teasing him with your first kiss too. That’s really genius of you.’ An unknown voice rang inside his mind, reminding Jin cruelly that he seemed a bit despicable resorting to this method to get Kazuya’s kiss.
Kazuya who was totally oblivious to this, glared hard at Jin with his eyes shooting off sharp daggers. “Can you stop your stupid gloating, you stupid, big fat ass!?”
Jin was immediately snapped out from his little world. “What? You didn’t forget the deal, did you?” Jin glared at Kazuya pointedly. “You’ve lost.” He didn’t want to lose his ‘prize’.
Kazuya huffed and turned to Koki for help using his famous kicked puppy eyes, emitting the ‘help me’ radar strongly.
“Sorry, dude. Can’t help you this time. Your scream just now was really… epic.” Koki snickered.
“Betrayer.” Kazuya grumbled sadly.
Junno, ignorant to his surroundings as usual, burst out laughing unceremoniously. “Kame-chan! You should have looked at your own expression just now. You practically freaked out when there’s even nothing on the screen yet! There were only sound effects and you’re already shivering in fear, raining bullets of sweat.”
Tatsuya just wanted to join in the fun, intending to rub some salt onto Kazuya’s ‘wound’. “And then when it was finally starting…”
“YOU shrieked horribly like a terrified girl without even sparing much glances throughout the entire movie!” Jin finished off with a smug grin. “So accept it. You’ve lost, Ka-zu-ya-kun~”
Kazuya halted in his steps instantly and stormed up to Jin, shooting daggers at him right in the face. They stood so close that they could feel each other’s warm precarious breath.
“Kame, you should have known that you shouldn’t place anything on this bet when you’re not a fan of horror films.” Kazuya flinched stiffly. Nakamaru certainly wasn’t helping at all.
“So? Where’s my kiss?” Jin made a stupid fool face right in front of Kazuya.
‘I have always been waiting for this moment~’ A small part inside Jin was rejoicing merrily for this moment.
Unexpectedly, Kazuya’s furious expression developed into a sweet, smiling face. “Your kiss ne, Jinjin…” Kazuya’s cynical smile broadened, at the same time, his index finger began to trail down along the buttons of Jin’s shirt seductively. This ‘innocent’ act of Kazuya’s only made Jin felt even tenser than ever, heartbeats escalating. Their friends were staring at the scene with their big, wide eyes and jaws dropping low.
‘What is he up to now?’
“Hun…” Kazuya made a cute, seductive hum alongside with the finger that was trailing up and down the button line before curling up tightly into a strong fist out of a sudden.
Jin thought the smaller man liked it… rough. He swallowed hard and intended to grin like an idiot, being all smiling and beaming. But… he wasn’t even quick enough to comprehend the entire incident when he felt himself being pulled forward harshly.
Kick!
“What the hell!” Jin screamed in agony. Instead of the awaiting kiss, Jin had received a hard kick at his left thigh which sent him kneeling down on the said knee and holding on to it dearly. He had nearly crashed onto the concrete road upon the sudden impact.
“What the hell are you doing, Kazuya!?” He hollered lividly at Kazuya.
Kazuya bent down and smirked at Jin. “That’s for your punishment. Like I would kiss you, idiot. Wait till your next life, Mr. Jinjin.” With that, Kazuya rolled his eyes rudely and stood back up, strolling away leisurely.
Jin slowly got up from his position on the ground and frowned deeply. Truth to be told, he felt a bit hurt from Kazuya’s reaction, and not on his left thigh. He originally meant to tease the smaller man but he didn’t mean it to be that bad. If Kazuya didn’t want to give him the kiss, obviously he wouldn’t say anything else. But… the way Kazuya had reacted bothered him a lot. Maybe… Kazuya didn’t feel the same for him like the way Jin felt for Kazuya?
Koki hurried to Jin and patted on his shoulder comfortingly. “Why did Kame-chan do that for? He’s too much! Are you okay, Jin?”
Nakamaru immediately apologized on Kazuya’s behalf kindheartedly while Tatsuya went up to Jin and patted him on his back knowingly. “Don’t take it too seriously. You know Kame.”
Jin kept his eyebrows knitted together but answered them calmly nevertheless. “It’s alright. I understand. Probably I have gone too far this time and have hurt him with my words or what. I will apologize to him properly when I get home later.”
“But it’s not your fault.” Junno tried to console him.
“Well, it’s okay. If I have offended him in any way, I guess it’s only appropriate for me to apologize to him properly.” Jin said determinedly. He must do this right.

“Stupid Jin! Stupid idiot! Stupid, big fat idiot!” Kazuya was cursing Jin all the way since he had left Jin and fellow friends outside the theatre.
He touched his left chest with his right hand where his heart was. ‘But why is my heart beating so furiously now?’ He contemplated seriously while making slow stroking movements on his left chest. ‘It must be due to the massive antagonism! Yeah, it’s rage! It couldn’t be due to the nervousness about that kiss… Right? I haven’t even got to kiss him yet!’
Suddenly, Kazuya halted in his movement in a freeze. “Wait! What!?” Kazuya screamed loudly, not giving a damn about his serene surrounding, not caring if anyone has heard him or whatsoever. “What the hell am I thinking!? Arghhhh! Kamenashi Kazuya! Wake up! Wake up!” Kazuya slapped hard on both his cheeks repeatedly with his hands.
He kicked the door to their apartment shut and plopped down heavily onto the couch. He stood up again after a while and went into the kitchen to pour himself a glass of ice cold water.
While he was gulping down the ice water, he heard his phone rang a short melodious tune, signaling an incoming message. He pressed a few buttons and revealed that the message was from Tatsuya.
Kazuya pouted after reading Tatsuya’s mean message. He decided to categorize the other’s message under ‘mean’ because Tatsuya had chided him for doing that to Jin and Tatsuya had insisted that he, Kazuya, should apologized sincerely to Jin for kicking him and hurting him. Because of that meaningless kick, Jin was even slightly limping now.
“He deserved it.” Kazuya scoffed. He keyed in a casual reply and dumped his phone onto the couch and the little device fell onto the spongy surface with a soft thud.
He wandered back to his own room and lay down on his bed, pondering over the whole event that had happened earlier on. He indeed felt sorry for hurting the taller man like this. He didn’t really mean it but at that moment just now, he was too livid and stubborn to bow down to his losing over the bet.
However, one thing that puzzled Kazuya was he actually didn’t mind if he really needed to give Jin the kiss. So why that big reaction just now?
Kazuya closed his eyes and released a frustrated groan. He was screwed. What if after he had kicked Jin, the latter got furious and decided to throw him out of this place? He didn’t have anywhere else to go! He… yes, he admitted it. Sometimes, he couldn’t stand Jin’s almost systematic way of living, his cleanliness habit, his non-harmful nagging and blah blah blah. But! He certainly didn’t mind these at all! In fact, most of the time, he loves the way Jin had nagged at him for the reason that it’s the taller man’s way of showing care and concern for him. He knew all about it, so he enjoyed it. He wasn’t ignorant and dumb. One thing for sure, he didn’t want anybody else to do these to him. If it was somebody else, he couldn’t handle it and he didn’t want to. Because it’s Jin, so it’s alright.
Most importantly, Kazuya was concerned over how Jin’s leg was now and how Jin was actually feeling now. He wasn’t exactly worried over the fact that he might be driven out from the cozy, nice apartment later. He was feeling concerned for Jin.
Kazuya released a deep sigh. Maybe he should really apologize to Jin with utmost sincerity when the latter got home later. Jin deserved it afterall.
