Part 3:

By the time Jin had reached home, Kazuya was dressed in his own pajamas, resting on the floor comfortably, leaning against the couch lazily and stretching his long legs out across under the coffee table. He was reading a magazine relaxingly, flipping the pages over gently. On the coffee table, there was a glass of ice water and an empty plate accompanying him.

“I’m home,” Jin muttered lowly, not sure if Kazuya was still willing to greet him. Somehow, he got a nagging urge to think of this as a situation whereby a husband was returning to his home and his lovely wife was waiting for him. He didn’t want to remember that this situation, however, was in reality, just returning back to a shared apartment between Kazuya and him. And no, of course, Kazuya was certainly not his wife.

‘Yet.’ Jin snickered childishly in his thoughts.

Unexpectedly, a soft “welcome home” was heard somewhere floating from the living room, and that brought Jin out from his oh-so-wonderful reverie. Jin’s lips curled upwards automatically and he smiled. He took off his shoes and stepped in, seeing how contented and relaxed Kazuya was in his current comfortable position.

Jin felt elated that Kazuya responded to him though it wasn’t anything honorable. But hey! At least Kazuya responded with something so he shouldn’t be feeling too furious right? Jin didn’t want to shatter the serene atmosphere inside the apartment so he padded soundlessly back to his own room. He came out along with his pajamas before stepping into the bathroom for a refreshing bath.

After ten minutes or so, Jin strolled out, finally feeling refreshed but his heart was still feeling some sort of heavy. He didn’t know what that invisible weight was about, he just felt… suffocated. Was that even the right word to use? He walked into the kitchen and helped himself to a glass of ice water as well before plucking up his courage to pace up to his roommate.

Jin placed his half-drank glass down beside the other one on the coffee table and sat down on the couch. He thought it’s only right to try and brought up a casual conversation before getting down right to the needed apology. “What are you reading, Kazuya?”

“Magazine” was the short curt reply.

“I see…” Jin cleared his throat a bit and fidgeted in his seat. “Look, Kazuya. I’m… I’m sorry for earlier on.”

Kazuya neither replied nor showed any response to him.

Jin continued nevertheless. “I… didn’t really want to mean anything bad, you know. I just…” ‘I just like you, that’s why I wanted your kiss.’ But no way was he going to let the other knew about it.

“I just…” Jin began to loop his words. “I just… erm, that was a game, a bet, so I…”

“Because it’s a game, a bet, that’s why you took it so lightly.” Kazuya accused lowly, his gaze never turned towards Jin, hands holding tightly to the magazine.

Jin blinked unknowingly. What?

“H-huh?” Yes, a very clever answer from you, Jin.

“I’m right, aren’t I? Because it’s just a game to you, therefore you certainly found it amusing and entertaining to tease me about it.”

“What? No! Nothing like this!” Jin panicked and hurried to defend himself. He didn’t want Kazuya to get the wrong idea, but apparently, he already did. “Please, listen to me.” Jin jumped up from the couch and faced Kazuya.

Nevertheless, Kazuya didn’t permit him the chance for he continued to mumble softly. “You don’t think much of a kiss. To you, a kiss may be nothing, just a peck on the lips, that’s it. But to me, a kiss certainly means a whole lot more than you can imagine.”

“No! You do mean a lot to me!” Jin blurted out hastily before he could stop himself.

Kazuya glanced up at Jin with wide eyes instantaneously. “I-I mean a lot to you?”

Jin stilled, frozen and went silent. Uh-oh. He had just accidentally let out his heavenly secret, right in front of his… secret! Shit. He so wanted to bang his head onto the nearest concrete wall now. Maybe, it’s better to lose consciousness or die than drowning in the spotlight of humiliation.

Kazuya stood up as well now and probed further curiously, all the previous anger, disappointment and sorrow had vanished into the thin air in a blink of an eye as soon as Jin’s words had fully consumed his mind. “Ne, do I really mean a lot to you?”

Jin continued to stare at his secret blankly and quietly, without moving an inch. Kazuya frowned and knitted his eyebrows together, pouting cutely. He poked Jin a couple of times shyly.

“Y-you are…” Jin stuttered coyly. “You actually mean a lot more to me than what you could have imagined…”

Kazuya stole another glance at Jin and began to crack his lips into a bashful smile. His long, brown bangs covered his smiling, sparkling eyes but the upwards curling of his lips couldn’t be mistaken.

Jin inhaled deeply. Now, he’s going to ask a question which he has been bottling it since long time ago, he wanted to let it out. “Kazuya, tell me… what are we now? What’s our relationship? Roommates?”

Kazuya shook his head mildly and muttered lowly. “Classmates?” As soon as his own words sunk into his mind, Kazuya shook his head frantically almost immediately again.

Jin decided to probe further. “Friends then?”

“Nope, not really. Maybe we’re close friends?” Was that a question thrown back at him? Jin stared back at Kazuya. Wasn’t he the one who had wanted an answer? How did it become Kazuya?

“Best friends then?” Jin felt a pang of hurt when asking this simple inquiry.

After considering for some moments, Kazuya answered firmly in a serious tone. “No… we’re not.”

Everything was not? Then what were they?

“So what are we then?” Jin couldn’t help but to snap sharply this time He’s losing his golden patience. “Make up your mind.”

“We…” Kazuya chose his words meticulously. “We’re a… family.” He whispered the last word in a soft voice.

“A what? I beg your pardon, Kazuya.” The said person scrutinized his suspicious gaze at Jin. The latter didn’t seem like he’s feigning innocence. Maybe he really didn’t get to hear it properly.

“I said… we are like… a family.” Kame repeated softly.

“A fa-family? Why?” Jin was astonished yet at the same time, felt a bit dissatisfied with Kazuya’s answer. So the smaller man had just wanted Jin to be someone… close to him like a… family, like a brother, like a sibling.

“Erm…” Sensing Jin’s facial expression had changed, Kazuya hurried to clarify. “I mean… a family like… you know… we are together, you can cook and wait for me to be home after school or the other way round.” Kazuya licked his lips in a nervous manner. He tends to do that a lot when he’s feeling nervous, Jin had took note of that.

“Just like how a close sibling would do?” Jin asked.

“No! Or… you know, we can sometimes go out for a stroll around or… or a date if you want to call it that way… we can have fun together, you know like any other couples around…”

Jin decided to shut Kazuya up by placing a chaste sweet strawberry-like kiss on the smaller man’s lips, successfully cutting off his rambling.

When Jin pulled back, Kazuya turned wide-eyed and stared at him in amazed astonishment but yet, he couldn’t control and asked. “What were you doing?”

“I got your point, Kazuya.” Jin beamed excitedly. “I’m smart! You mean we can be boyfriends right?” He asked straightforwardly. His words were that simple yet bore a very significant meaning.

Kazuya kept quiet and continued to gape at Jin until his gaze fell onto Jin’s plump, alluring lips. “Or better still, husbands?” The innocent cute beam became a scandalous smirk upon that idea. “You love me...”

“Wh-what?” Kame muttered, refusing to answer further.

“Don’t try to deny it, Kazuya.”

“Y-you…”

“Yes? I?” Jin taunted playfully.

“Jin… you…” Jin tilted his head curiously, anticipating the other’s words.

“YOU JUST TOOK MY FIRST KISS AWAY!” Kazuya shrieked in horror.

“That’s your first kiss? Oh my god.” Jin planted his face into his own palms. ‘And I thought I was the only one offering my first kiss!’ But Jin kept quiet about it. They had just given their first kiss to one another, alright, more like Jin took Kazuya’s one without permission. But hey, it’s not like Kazuya minded, right?

Kazuya whined loudly in an unbelievable tone. “It is! It is! And you just… just took it like this! I can’t believe it! I thought of my first kiss to be very romantic, you know, maybe under the dim street light, while watching the mysterious moon at night…”

Jin grinned darkly at that. He moved forward swiftly and pecked on Kazuya’s chaste lips again. “Your second kiss.”

Kazuya paused in his nonsensical babbling and again, he gawked unbelievably at Jin. Before he could come up with a witty reaction, Jin caught his lips for the third time and whispered in the midst of the kiss. “And… your third kiss.” Jin grinned like a child who had gotten a whole year of free lollipops. He giggled when he saw Kazuya’s priceless expression.

“Oh. My. God.” Kazuya muttered each syllable in a low, defeated tone. “Did I… just hinted that I love you?” Jin continued to beam like a pampered child and nodded his head furiously.

“From now on, everything about you, on you, from you is all mine. Oh, of course, that includes your body, your feelings and your heart as well. They belong to me. They are all mine so you can’t take it back as you wish.” Jin declared proudly. Finally, Kamenashi Kazuya belongs to him!

“Yours…?”

“Yes, mine. All mine.” Jin smirked.

“But it’s my first kiss…” Kazuya pouted cutely again.

“Correction, it’s your first, second and third kisses.” Jin grinned from ear to ear.

“Uh huh. And you still dare to correct me, Akanishi Jin! Return them to me!” Kazuya frowned and got upset. He didn’t manage to commit to his memory the amazing feeling of being kissed, not to mention, it was his first kiss ever. “You’re supposed to be logical, to be rational, Jin! How could you behave like this!?” Kazuya screamed in disbelief.

“No way! When you give away something, you can’t have it back!” Jin retorted. “And I’m not irrational! Didn’t you realize that our friends have always been anxious, waiting for us to come together so that they could be spared off the miseries we have been posing on them?”

Kazuya stilled and asked timidly. “Really?”

“Yes, you’re the only one who didn’t see that, I supposed. I was just helping them out.” Jin shrugged. ‘Since I love you so much.’ He added in his mind.

Kazuya frowned, grabbing Jin on his shoulders and shook him hard. “Are you nuts? Even so, that still didn’t mean that you could steal my kisses! I didn’t give them to you! You’ve robbed them!” Kazuya pretended to wail pitifully.

“I-I…” Jin was at a loss, facing this Kazuya. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t want to see Kazuya cry. “It was my first, second and third kisses too! So we are quit!” Jin admitted panicky.

Kazuya immediately quieted down and gazed at Jin through his shimmering orbs. “Really?”

“Yes, I swear.” Jin answered earnestly.

“But still, you’ve robbed them!” Kazuya whined.

“Well, my dear, did I forget to inform you that I’ve just became a robber because of you?” Jin grinned cheekily.

“Idiot.” Kazuya mumbled but nevertheless, smiling at Jin. “What are you waiting for? Hug me and twirl me around like what couples do in dramas! It’s supposed to be romantic and memorable with all the twirling and all!”

Jin laughed out unceremoniously. “No, no. Ours is different. I will still make it memorable and romantic but… in a different way.”

Kazuya shuddered. Out of a sudden, he had a bad feeling. “Which is…?”

Jin started to explain while making movements. “Firstly, I will hug you.” He stepped forward and pulled the smaller man into his welcoming arms, “then I will carry you in a bridal way…” Jin bent down and picked Kazuya up easily in the said bridal style and started to stroll towards Jin’s bedroom. Kazuya looked at him inquisitively while paying full attention to Jin’s words. “And then, lastly, we will spend our first night together as well!”

“WHAT?! Are you kidding me? You are robbing me of my first night as well on the same day you took away my first kiss!?” Jin gave a victorious smirk despite Kazuya’s struggling protests in companion with the harsh swinging of his legs and the dangerous flailing of his arms. “Can’t you wait, you horny pervert! Let me go! JIN!” Kazuya screamed on top of his lungs.

The said person only smirked and kicked his bedroom door shut. He walked up to his bed and threw Kazuya clumsily onto his bed, hovering over him. “Nuh-uh. Honey, it’s our first sweet night together~ so there is no way I’m going to let you go~ so enjoy it, Aka.ni.shi.Ka.zu.ya~”
