Finished Anthem last night; didn't much like it. I appreciate some of Ayn Rand's philosophy (people should be able to enjoy the fruits of their own labors) but the whole Ego thing just didn't work for me. Weird story, but fits my dystopic theme.
Just finished Aeon Flux (the graphic novel) also and it's REALLY difficult tio see where the movie came from. Is there more than just the one I read? It's like someone made up a whole 'nother story from a very few basic elements in the GN.
Looking in the front of the book I see that it say issues 1 thru 4 -- unless there are 5 and more that I haven't found yet, someone really used their imagination on the movie, in a way that won't really help me with my final project!
Italian language meetup both good and not so good last night. Nice people; a few I had met the first time and a bunch I hadn't, but way less speaking of Italian than I had expected. I thought to sit and listen to the conversations; which I did but as they mostly in English it was hard. The one Guy who was talking with me was asking me questions in Italian that were beyond my level -- hopefully the Coffees for Beginners and the language class that starts on Tuesday will remedy that, anyway. The restaurant was good but served way too large entrees -- I think everyone at the table took home at least half of their food.
Dinner tonight: Tagliatelle with Ragu Bolognese, salad, ciabatta
Last night's wine: House Sangiovese
