Abschieds-Feier
Ich bin so dankbar!
Yesterday my friends threw me a surprise going away party. This was one of the most unexpected and heartwarming things that has happened to me in a long time.
After having dinner with my friend Aisha and roommate Nadine, the doorbell rang and in came ten people! Complete with Sekt and presents. Though I had sensed earlier in the day that something might happen (everyone running away as soon as I entered the school), it was nevertheless difficult to fight back the tears. (moving countries+wonderful friends+a little PMS=much use of kleenexes)
Presents include: a small notebook with a poppy on it, a pink pencil and a Bodum coffee maker.
However, the best thing of all is an autograph book called 'My Closest Friends'. It's kind of similar to one of those baby books, where you write how tall the baby is, how much it weighs, what the first words were etc.
Each person gets a couple pages, where they write their favourite colour, address, email, eye/hair colour, what makes them special, all that kind of good stuff. Then they stick in a picture of themselves on the next page.
So I have this autograph book filled with info and pictures of all my friends in Germany. It is something that will definitely bring comfort on those lonely nights in Lisbon.
