Got paid today, and was excited to think that I wouldn't have to make a mortgage payment! But with the closing papers to sign (yay!) I had to send a cashier's check for $1508. I can only hope that at least half of that comes back ( Read more... )

Ruined Spanish Fresco Monkey Jesus

Work was slow and easy and everybody got their breaks and all the work got done. The food was good and those who came to eat it seemed to like it. We tore down the Halloween decorations after close; the boss is big on the holiday and dressing up, and we always have a menu with ghoulish names for the food and lots of décor. When we went to the William Temple thrift shop last week, I found a black (serge? linen? tropical weight wool?) English university robe for eight bucks. Saw some families out trick-or-treating on Vancouver Ave on my way down the hill. Inventory wasn't bad.
