Tully went out to play in the yard Thursday afternoon, but wouldn't come in when called as he usually does. We called him and whistled his signal for hours. Three years ago we agreed that our grief over Milton had receded to the point we could go to the shelter and meet some kitties.

Oh, what a lucky day!

We made the acquaintance of the sweetest, gentlest boy ever. He agreed to come home with us, and Rumi Day became a household holiday. Must make Bastet an offering.

A year ago I first encountered a sweet little calico cat with a ragged pink collar, sitting on the sidewalk between my workplace and where I eat lunch. Haven't seen her since spring and miss her dear little face!

"That one" is getting bigger every second and flinging himself from bookcase to dresser across yards of space. He has done the floor-to-shoulder leap with Kevin, who really didn't care for it. A handful much? "Oh, THAT one."

Catullus is recovering nicely from his surgery. The staff assure us that he really was anaesthetized; he was jumping around in his crate and had been active enough to be noticed by the staff at a busy city clinic. Now he's singing castrato and wearing the latest thing in subcutaneous microchip accessories.

My dearly-loved cousin Mary Hartigan is a lover of cats, particularly black ones, so when she learned of another black kitten coming to join our little family, she sent him a gift.
