She is alive again! Oh, how I've missed you, TARDIS! You good ol' girl. <3
Dad and I took her up to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store today, and the guy there was very helpful. He was able to diagnose the problem, boot her up with a safe boot, and then bring her back to life. <3 It turned out that there were some issues with the hard drive and the RAM. But they were fixed at the genius bar, and she's now working like a charm again. The real test, of course, will be to see if she lasts the night. A disk utility check revealed no problems and everything's back in working order. The tech support guy even told Dad and I how to take her apart properly to fix hardware problems ourselves. <3
Of course, the Apple Store itself was cool, too. *geek mode* ^^ Now I can rest easy knowing that I can get my work done.
Naturally, we started her up, backed everything on her up to our server, ran disk utilities just to be sure, and know she's doing fine.
Okay, happy relieved computer-related rambling over now. It's late, so I'll work on fun stuff, then start fresh tomorrow on my Gladiator project. Happy to say that my Unreal project is almost done, save for some tweaking of lights, sound and textures, and so is the take-home exam for World Civ. <3
