...Just not fair. Not fucking fair.
My computer died. Well, "died" isn't the accurate term, but that's pretty much it. Reeeaaaal good timing too! *snark* Breaking down at a time when I need to get all my final projects done and I lost my hard-earned progress from Friday afternoon. I have work from Friday morning, but that's only so much... ;_;
What's happening is that my computer shuts off during the night and won't start back up. Normally, I set it to sleep every night and it wakes up every morning at a set time. The compy itself doesn't go to sleep during the day because I have it set to go to the screen saver instead. But recently, it's been shutting off at night and not restarting when I turn on the power button. I tried resetting the machine by unplugging all the cords, letting it sit, and then replugging in the machine while holding the power button. That worked the first couple of times but not anymore.
The computer still "works" in the regard that the inner workings of the machine still turn on, such as the hard drive and the fan and so forth. It even gets power. I'm just not seeing any display, nor is the OS booting up. Tried booting it up from the system disk. That didn't work, and now the disk is stuck inside the machine because IT WON'T TURN ON.
...So just going to take it in for service. Trouble is, the appointment to take it in is on Wednesday. And I need to get my work done. The only way to get it all done now is to wait 'til Monday and pretty much go into the damn computer labs and snag a computer before some fucking asshat can dick around on Facebook and and... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!
*whine/sob* I want my TARDIS back... ;_; My poor beloved loyal Mac... I'm suffering without my poor girl. And yes, I'm personifying my Mac as a female, and its/her name is "The TARDIS". *fangirlism*
...I'm typing this from my Dad's PC, btw. It's nice. It has the UDK and Mudbox installed and working, but it doesn't have Maya nor any of the Adobe suite. If that were the case, then it would be my machine of choice until my beloved TARDIS is fixed. ;_; But. It's the Mac version of Maya and the Adobe Suite. ;_; And I can't really finish my work with only two of the software I need. Gah. That, and it doesn't measure up to my Mac.
On the plus side, I picked up Final Fantasy XIII to distract me. So far, so good. Also beat Assassin's Creed 2, so I've been running around tying up stray side missions there. Makes things feel much better for a while. Probably just going to play video games, study and sleep tomorrow.
