trouble a-brewing
there's something going on at work, with the client, and it's big. i don't know what it is exactly but i talked to one of the clients and if he's correct, we're in trouble. basically, we were asked to develop an interim campaign for the materials for this POA...which we did. we designed pieces that looked similar to the current look but different enough to, well, differeniate. everything was fine until the team leader, who's an ASS (he has no marketing experience yet he's a senior level marketer--gotta love nepotism), decided our pieces weren't nice-looking enough. he saw the look we developed for another brand and got his panties in a twist about it. well, the reason that campaign is so nice is because it's a friggin' LAUNCH so WE defined the creative tones from scratch. however, that didn't matter so we busted our tails on got him a new look which he liked.
and guess what? now we have to GO BACK to the original, if not worse. i haven't heard from Julie or Caroline yet but the two have them have been cooped up and paging like crazy. shit is going to hit the fan because our materials have to be finished by tuesday of next week...there's no way we could change 20+ projects in that amount of time. not to mention how absurd it is that our client is driving us in circles.
until i hear something officially, i'll assume all is well. i refuse to let this dampen my spirit until necessary. when my client told me this information, i made a bunch of jokes and he said that he was so glad to work with me because i have a way of making things seem better than they are. the thing is, if you let this shit get to you, you'll go crazy. i did that over the summer and got sick because of it. so, laughter in the face of bullshit prevails everytime.
and a drink or 10 isn't too bad either ;)
