This flu is still dragging on (and dragging me down). My body is getting so tired of being sick and beat up. Today Ron is finally feeling mostly better, so that gives me hope. Just a few more days of not so bad stuff. I hope. If my immune system doesn't decide to be weak because of pregnancy. I've been taking vitamins and drinking green tea and honey and lots and lots of water.
Today most of the body aches seem to be gone. It's all gone to my head now. Bad headache, pressure behind my ears, heavy eyelids, swollen and irritated throat with a cough, runny nose. & last night I was all wheezy. At least I slept better than I have in days since my hips weren't in such excruciating pain. I took Tylenol when I woke up, but I'm trying to hold off on it because I took three doses yesterday (which is 6 pills when the maximum recommended dose on the bottle says 8) and I really don't feel okay about taking things while pregnant. Luckily I've only taken Tylenol a handful of times until this point and I'm so late in pregnancy that it probably won't affect Leo since he's almost fully developed. I also had a throat lozenge earlier, but those are okay as long as they are alcohol free, right?
Tomorrow is my next doctor's appointment, which I'm sure I won't feel like going to since I feel like crap, but I'm glad it's tomorrow. I will find out if I have Group B Strep (I hope I don't, but it's not a big deal if I do--I'll already be hooked up to an IV with the epidural). I hope they went ahead and tested me for a yeast infection, because both the midwife and I had a sneaking suspision about that and I want to get it cleared up ASAP before the baby is born. If they didn't test, I'll just bring it up again and see if they recommend treatment. I'm also anxious to know if my baby is measuring on target again since he was behind last week. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't because I've been sick and I haven't had an appetite, but I've still been trying to eat for his sake. I just haven't been able to bring myself to eat much meat. If he's still behind, they're scheduling another sonogram to check his development. I'm excited to see him again, but I don't want anything to be wrong. I know he's probably fine and that maybe I just have a small baby since I myself am a little bit on the small side.
I do have some great news! Well, for us. I think the people Ron works with are pitching in to buy us the travel system!! Ron isn't supposed to know, so we're not sure, but they're getting something big off my registry. When he walked into work, he saw one of the girls who threw us the shower looking at my printed off baby registry and she had a list of people's names in the other hand. That will be beyond nice of them and it will be a HUGE help. Also, one of Ron's co-workers who wasn't able to make it to the shower said she had a $50 gift card for us. Whoa, yay! That will pay for half of the pack 'n play. I should really get started on thank-you cards, but my head has been so achy since the shower that I can hardly focus.
For some reason Target is having a huge clearance on baby stuff, so Ron & I went yesterday (I had to drag myself out of the house when I felt awful, but it's been going on for awhile and I really didn't want to miss it) & we got some ridiculous deals. We took a couple things back for $60 in store credit and bought
the bedding set I wanted, which comes with the duvet with insert, crib sheet, and bumpers for $28 when it was originally $55. The dust ruffle was $10, originally twice that much. Someone bought me a matching sheet for the set as a shower gift. Not even $40 for a bedding set is ridiculous. & it was the one I picked out to begin with! Now I need to get this room cleaned up so we can set the crib up. We won't be using it for awhile, but I can't wait to see it all together.
We also bought the
Symphony in Motion Farm Animals Mobile for $28, originally $40, which I adore. It plays Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach, and it's so trippy that it HAS to keep any baby's attention. Finally, we bought the
Playskool Let's Play Together Gym for $7, originally $25, and it is even the gym I picked out to begin with because it looked most useful and I really didn't think a $60 fold out one was necessary.
I'm not even sure why Target has all of this stuff on clearance. I looked at the new baby book they have out which I assume is what they are making room for, and it has the exact same things! The bedding set we got is in the book, only in pink and it is a four-piece to include the dust ruffle, and it is $80. It also shows the same exact mobile at full price. It's a lucky coincidence that they had everything I wanted on clearance. So now I have (pretty much) everything that I can think of, or I will soon. What a relief.
Right now my headache isn't so bad and everything feels mostly okay even without Tylenol except my throat, which feels as if it is swollen to twice its size.
