After I sold WIDE OPEN, I didn't talk about it online while waiting for contracts.  As this took a bit of time,  I got out of the habit of talking about writing.  Which is why, in a roundabout way, I haven't talked all that much about book two.

I don't usually do a looking back at the year post, but this was a change year for me, at least in the realm of writing and it's sort of nice to mark that in some way.

1. We are having a beautiful fall in Iowa.  Beautiful.  Seventy degrees.  Sunny every day.  I'm sure we'll be sorry for it later.

2. Took the dogs tracking last weekend and they were both awesome.  I had laid Blue's track across a parking lot and then between two buildings.  He nailed the track across the parking lot, which is really, really hard to ( Read more... )

So I'm sort of kind of not really working on another novel while I produce a workable draft of the current novel.  I've had my basic premise and the characters and their important character traits and personalities.  But I did not have the Big Thing or how these characters will mesh with the Big Thing and even with each other or how the inciting ( Read more... )

I really want to get back to a much more regular posting schedule but really my life is full of boring lately (and that's not a complaint).

The dogs and I went tracking this morning and it was hot, hot, hot.  They both did pretty well despite the heat, though it's been a while since I tracked with other people and it's harder to gauge our progress ( Read more... )
