Vidal Sassoon has died at 84 after a long battle with leukemia. My first career in beauty magazines was inspired by him. I am so sad.

I am sad today. Overwhelmed and coming down with a cold. I don't want to do anything but go back to bed. I have deadlines and a sink full of dishes. It's 75 degrees, sunny and breezy out. The irony of the "great day."

This year so far has been a bit more topsy turvy than I could have anticipated. Out with the bad and in with the good. Every time I go to London, I spend a day (that's right, one full day) at the British Museum. I linger at the paid exhibits and rush through as much of the rest until it's time to go.
