{Munday} ~ Anniversary Survey

Oct 12, 2010 18:03

Muse: Alice Liddell
Canon: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass
Words: I usually don’t have wordcounts for Munday responses. There is a reason for this (i.e. I probably write too much.)
{{Yay for Munday surveys! I have two more Munday responses that I’ll be posting later today (& they are both prompts from last month, facepalm}}.

Tomorrow marks the 2nd anniversary of the charloft community! It's been a great two years. With that in mind, we have a little community survey we hope you'll fill out. Answer as many or as few questions as you like.

Thank you for being a part of our community!

1) How long have you been a charloft member? Since January! I actually found charloft when I was trying to find places for my new Alice muse (& she didn’t even have her own journal yet!).

2) Have you ever visited /played in our live chat? If so, what did you think of it? Indeed! I tend to be somewhat sporadic lately, though: I’ll be on nearly every day for a week & then I’ll disappear for a month or so. I quite like the character development discussion that goes on as well as the general OOC chat. The IC chat is fun too, but sometimes I get distracted or such & then I find I’ve missed half an hour of play-also I can’t always get on until later & then I have to leave after a few hours or so. Personally, I prefer threading RP ... but I do like the live chats as well! And Alice has made friends in the Loft. ^_^

3) Do you participate in NaNoWrimo? If so, what NaNoWrimo support would you like to see charloft offer this year? I do not-the 100 Drabbles of Summer Challenge was the first writing challenge I’ve done-but I have great respect for people who do.

4) What is your favorite prompt day? Least favorite? Oooh, favourite would probably be either Wednesday graphics (I’ve found I quite like using Polyvore, as much as I need more practice) and Thursday drabbleprompts (which generally end up being more like double-drabbles for me). Munday and Friday lists are also fun! My least favourite would have to be the Saturday playlists, mostly because Alice is Miss Victorian & I don’t really have much period music in my iTunes. I have done one or two Saturday prompts meta/occ-ly, but I usually just skip them & read others’ responses.

5) How have charloft prompts helped you with your writing / character development? EPICALLY. I’m quite serious. I feel I’ve been improving writing-wise & am becoming a bit more confident in my writing (also, the 100 Drabbles of Summer challenge has been helping me practice editing). As for character development, Alice seems much more real (& hopefully more rounded) than she was before I joined Charloft. I actually have a passable headcanon now (which quite surprises me at times)! I’m not the sort of creative person who can simply come up with things-I need to have a spark of inspiration and the prompts are excellent for this.

6) Give us some prompt suggestions? Argh, I’m horrible at this. I think I’ll pass for now.

7) Are there any burning questions you would like to ask the mods? None that I can think of at present! (And I think we already discussed ravens & writing-desks in chat.)

8) Did you participate in the 100 Drabbles of Summer? If so what did you think of it? Would you like to see more activities like this in the future? I did! I had great fun, though I “failed” miserably (I’ll be posting my response to the Drabble Survey at some point today or tomorrow-it’s one of the Munday prompts I mentioned earlier). I would like to see more writing challenges-but perhaps smaller ones might be better.

9) What would you like to see in the coming year in charloft? What activities would you like to have? I can’t think of anything at present, but I’ll definitely let you know.

10) Would you participate if we offered more active posting in charloft_rpg ? What would you want to see in charloft's live or community based RPG? Ooh, definitely! As I mentioned before, I actually prefer threaded RP-both because I’m a slow RPGer & I’m not always online (especially now that I’m at home again). As for suggestions ... perhaps some sort of party or other Loft-wide event in the RPG comm.?

11) What do you think we should do to celebrate charloft's 2nd birthday? I’m not entirely certain, but there should definitely be cake & silly hats. At the very least.

12) Is there anything we can do to improve charloft? Not that I can think of! It’s a lovely comm, the prompts are fun, & the mods are fantastic. I’m so glad I found Charloft when I did-I was apprehensive about finding comms after not RPGing for a few years, but I’ve found the comm & the players very welcoming here. ^_^ ::hugs::
