Christmas Wish List

Dec 03, 2000 18:34

Dear Santa, friends and family-

I want peace on earth and good will towards men. I want you to make charitable dontations in my name to starving third world children, and give blankets to the homeless, and hug cute little warm fuzzy bunnies and save the environment- ON SOME OTHER DAY!

This is Christmas, the one time of the year Laura gets happy healthy materialistic urges!

Buy me stuff!

Make me stuff!

Just give me stuff!

Like this:

This is the Road to El Dorado Playstation game. It retails for $29.99 at Amazon.com and it will be released on December 11th.

Also moving right along with Laura's El Dorado theme:

This is the El Dorado video, coming out on Dec 10th It retails for $20.99 at Amazon.com .

You don't know Jack 5! Aus and I love to play this trivia game- we have numbers 1-3, so four could also be a possible present.

This is the wadjet boardgame, based on Carter's discovery of King Tut's tomb. Aren't I such a history buff? Yes, I know- big geek. But I love egyptian things. It retails for 59.95 at the Museumcompany.com .

Also from the Museum Company, there is the Ancient Cultures Bridge pack, retailing for 19.95. This features cards printed with images from ancient cutures.

This is a nifty thing caled The Stone which is sort of an online mystery. You look at www.thestone.net and see who has a matching stone, and solve a mystery. Only 19.95, also at the Museum Company.

Curse of the Feline Pharoah puzzle and game. Looks like a lot of fun to play and solve, only 19.95, also from the museum company.

I love the game Clue, and would really like this spiffy 50th anniversary eddition of the game. It retails for $24.95 at Toys R Us. Hint! Aus also likes Clue, too, and yep, we'd dig the cheaper version too, if this doesn't fit your budget.

Ooh, Trivial Pursuit for the millenium. I remember when the first one came out..That means I'm old, yes. But any edition of this game would be spiffy too (I really like board games) . This one retails for 39.99 at Toys R Us.

Payday! This is a game that I haven't seen since I was a teenager, working at a Christmas Carnival's duck pond.. I was 14 and I thought paying bills was fun. Imagine that? It still looks like something that'd be fun to play, and a bit of nostalga- as well as a bargin at 14.95 from Toys R Us.

Deluxe Life- got to love that little board game. This version is 29.99. There's also a 14.99 regular version which would be spiffy, too. Toys R Us

Pass the Pigs - this game uses pigs for dice and is spiffily priced at 4.99 from Toys R Us.

GO
I really really really want this! This is a game that orginated in China 4000 years ago, and would be nifty to have the Sulsa in my campaign play. Buyyyy this for me. Please? A bargin at only $14.99 from Amazon (and possibly, Toys R Us) Any other version of GO would do.

Other games from Toys R Us with no pictures available:
Battleship $14.99
Sorry $13.99
Deluxe Parchisi $9.99
Parchisi $5.99
Throw and Go Jenga $14.99
Wise and Otherwise $36.99
Othelo $9.97 (Aus loves this game =) )
Maj-Jong $99.97

Chess games from Midnight Snack are 19.95, and they have a spiffy Celtic and Egyptian set.

Chineese checkers would also be spiffy for the same reason as the GO, and any other ancient oriental games one can find.

I'd love to have some of these great adventure historical based card/board game type thingys from gamewright.com :
http://www.gamewright.com/games/samurai.html
http://www.gamewright.com/games/quests.html
http://www.gamewright.com/games/mummyrummy.html
They also make a fantastic game called Eagle Kingdoms that I once had and would love to have again, but I can't find any information on it ={
They're 19.99 each

As far as other things go, I like books- especially romance novels, ancient history books (particularly on the Three Kingdoms of ancient Korea, Egypt, and Mesopotamia), medieval books (armor, weapons, clothing, livestyles, medieval and renisance art and archetecture, etc), board and card games of all sorts, crosstitch, stuffed animals, etc.

I can always use practical things - but we all know those aren't any fun, so I won't list them here =P

I tried to include all price ranges. Nothing is over 100, and many things are under 20, and there's even some stuff that's around 5 bucks or so. Many of these things, particularly games, are things Aus and I would both enjoy if you're into the whole two for one deal.

If you don't have any money to spare and still want to give me a holiday gift, visit Lwriting.blackroseinn.com and click your little heart out viewing my stories (I get ten cents per view of those =) ). Visit http://www.labarc.com/Sponsors/ and click on our pay per click banners to help with domain costs. Draw me a picture of one of my characters, make a graphic for the website, write me a heartfelt letter that says I don't suck as a human being, offer to help with one of the many projects Aus and I have going on, send an e-greeting to Laura@labarc.com, or just read my journal and comment sometimes. Its good to feel loved.

Merry Christmas to all, and lots of stuff to me -
Laura =)

PS: Some of these thingys might be fun for other people on your holiday list too, so I may have actually done something useful here.

games, christmas
