Huge turn around in the temperatures here.  Today it felt like November--high 50s, drizzly, overcast, windy.  So bizzare considering we were 102 three days ago.  40 degree difference.  And it's supposed to be like this for the next several days.  Feels nice to not sweat, though I'm looking forward to the weekend when it will be back into the ( Read more... )

Oh, man. I just finished experiencing my very first Texas summer, and from what everyone down here is telling me, it's possibly the worst that ever existed. This is both beneficial and horrible. As in, I've experienced the worst, but goddamn was it the worst. A heatwave back home is like a few days of 95+ weather, and I found myself saying, "Oh, it's only 98." on a few occasions. That is just something that no human being should have to experience.

On the worst day, the billboard outside of campus said 116. I don't know if that was index, but what?

But yes. It is now 1:14 a.m. and a glorious 65 degrees after being around 88 today and is going to drop down to 57ish. I'm definitely smiling.

I type around 90wpm, and I didn't even realize that was exceptional until I was sitting in the library at school and people were watching me type. I just learned to practice with my eyes close. Besides, I speak fast irl, so I'm assuming that my typing adapted to keep up with my normal speech/the speed of my thoughts. I'm just a rambling mess. (As seen here.)

Good luck! I hope you do get the job. Two incomes rock the hell out of one. <3

This summer sucked. All of July was ungodly...and it was as bad or way worse all over. At least we had a nice wet spring and didn't have drought and the possibility of wildfires hanging over us.

90?! That's fucking nuts! I don't think my fingers can move that fast.

I don't really want a full-time/little flexibility job. I like being able to write and take care of the house and not worry about leaving work in order to take Scout to the orthodontist or whatever. Also there's the whole I really prefer to be alone. Being self-employed for so long has made me feel unemployable. But the health insurance and extra income, meager as it is, would be lovely.
