Yes, after a long hiatus, my movie reviews are back in business. Actually it's mostly because the past three months have been chock full of ass-suckage at the theaters. It actually took 4 pintos to play Hidalgo, I hear. Viggo bought one of them at the end of shooting the movie.

I hate when good looking guys who are decent actors get forced in the role of "heart throb" or "action hero." It's never really a good idea (except maybe for Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford). I'd like to see Viggo go do an indie drama next or a Wes Anderson movie, something like that.

He was excellent in G.I.Jane, and the key was that he wasn't there just to be "Look at me, I'm sexy man-flesh", but rather that he was good for the role in being a hard-ass Navy Seal instructor. He played the part well, in addition to being "ridiculously good-looking" in that grimy Viggo way.

On the other hand, him playing Lucifer in The Prophecy was just plain kick-ass. Evil Viggo rocks!

OK, ditto to all of chaosvizier's comments on this one. I didn't care about anyone. However, in defense of Viggo, in a backhanded way, he was not picked for this movie to play irresistable man-flesh. He really didnt' look all that attractive. Don't know why, but whatever is usually there wasn't.
