Oh summer blockbusters, so full of cheesy badness and brainless substance. I just can't get enough of you. But before we get to the main event, here's some blurbs about other movies, just because I've been watching a lot of movies and DVDs lately...
The Matrix 1/2/3 - Sat down for an epic afternoon of trilogy goodness. "Goodness" is pretty

And yet that sequence is better than the opening of the book, which is the Minister of Magic and the muggle Prime Minister talking about the recent spate of Death Eater attacks. I was dreading that scene. So glad they remembered the show-not-tell rule.
The best sequence in the film is ... where Harry drinks the luck potion and gets the information he's looking for by unexpected means.
Oh man, that was GOLD. Excellent stoner humor from DanRad, and I found the scenery porn during Aragog’s eulogy hilarious (was anyone else reminded of the funerals at the start of Braveheart?). And then wham, pathos!

Poor Aragog. I liked him in the 2nd movie. Especially when he encouraged his kids to eat Ron and Harry. OM NOM NOM SPIDER FOOD.

And kudos on your Transformers review...I agree with everything except how "hot" Megan Fox is...I think she's average to trashy.

I hate to quibble (no, not really, but one must seem demure) but the movie only just came out on July 15th. I know because I was in the theatre July 16th to watch it. Why wasn't I there on the 15th? Because it premiered at midnight, and I don't do midnight movies any more.
I will agree though, the Harry Drinks The Luck Potion was really funny. Daniel did Stoner Harry quite well.

G-Force: I thought this movie was quite cute and actually pretty enjoyable. The 3D was worth it for the fireworks scene alone (especially considering they're playing Au Fortuna in the background), and the CGI was done pretty well.
GI Joe: Just go into it reminding yourself that it's a 2 hour toy commercial and you'll be fine. I don't think I said "I want one!" so many times during the course of a single movie. And, big positive point here, Marlon Wayans does NOT ruin it, and is actually pretty entertaining.

Actually, to be fair, I was totally prematurely biased against G-Force. What happened was, I was strolling around IMDB one day, and saw an entry for "G-Force". Immediately I thought of this old anime conversion cartoon which old foagies like me called "Battle Of The Planets", featuring a bunch of superheroes called G-Force who fought evil alien monsters in classic anime style. I had really fond memories of that show (even though watching it 20+ years later reveals how much it sucks), and I was horrified to think that someone was going to make a live-action conversion of one of my prized childhood memories. And then I saw it was about super-guineapigs, and I couldn't quite reconcile anything in my brain anymore, and so I started drinking.
Marlon Wayans does NOT ruin it,
That in itself is a pretty strong point. I can't stress enough how the high point of "Dungeons and Dragons: The Movie" was when the token Wayans brother got killed.

If it is (I'm hoping it's hyperbole) Mike doesn't want to see it...
