Minimerlin 2011: All of the feelings!
What a great weekend, you guys! I met so many awesome people and had excellent hang outs. At some point during the weekend, I think every one of us had ALL OF THE FEELINGS, drunk or otherwise. I know there were a lot of feelings in the con suite at various points, some of them about Merlin, some about Inception, some about Doctor Who, a surprising amount about Queer As Folk, and even some about cinnamon schnapps.
But feelings aside, the whole weekend was pretty excellent. When we weren't in the con suite, there was awesome conversation over amazing Italian food (om nom nom, Maggiano's!), delicious falafel at Reading Terminal Market, purposeful meandering, terrible busking in the park, and more awesome stuff that I am probably forgetting. Oh, and the excellent brunch on Sunday for those of us who were still there! Clearly there was some great food going on this weekend, lol.
Post-con, ras_elased came back to my place and we had a mini multi-fandom vid show of things she had never seen, and then I successfully got her to start watching Series 5 of Doctor Who. I love watching shows I love with other people who love those shows, so that was great. Seriously, can it be time for Series 6 now? Anyway, there was Red Dwarf this morning, which Ras had never seen, and I hadn't seen in aaaages, and then I had to drop her off at the airport and admit to myself that the weekend was finally over. Once again, all of the feelings.
I am so glad I got to go, and I will definitely be there next year! Now to figure out how to get everyone to come to wincon in October...
Also, welcome, new people! I'll make another post tomorrow with all of the specific recs and whatnot that I promised various people, but I am still kind of groggy right now, so I pretty much only have the energy for dinner and getting ready for my interview tomorrow, despite the solid eight hours of sleep I got last night. For fic, start with my delicious, though, since a bunch of the stuff we talked about is in there.
