This may be the longest amount of time I've ever gone without posting. *checks* Oh, wow, clearly that's not even sort of true. I didn't post last year for seven months at one point. I don't feel so bad now, lol.
At any rate, not much going on with me, which is why the lack of posting. Still job-hunting, still not getting anywhere with that. I had planned to apply for a bunch of temp jobs a couple of weeks ago, but after I came back from visiting my parents for my dad's birthday, my back and neck were so fucked up that I had trouble doing much of anything. It wasn't quite as bad as before I had the surgery, but it was way worse than it's been in years. I've been taking it easy the past two weeks, and finally found a local chiropractor who I saw yesterday, so I'm feeling a lot better, especially in the neck and shoulders. I have another appointment tomorrow, so hopefully that will clear up most of it. Because I am really sick of sitting around doing mostly nothing. I've found a couple of ways to earn a tiny bit from home, but I'd actually like to get out of the house more than occasionally, so hopefully the temp thing will pan out next week.

Tomorrow, my parents are coming down and we're going to the
Philadelphia Flower Show, and then for dinner, which should be nice. Not something that would occur to me to do on my own, but it looks like it will be beautiful. And there will be delicious food that I don't have to make or pay for, so I consider it a win all around.

So, for the past couple of months, around job applications and earning a bit of cash, I've been marathoning some TV. I did an epic Queer as Folk US re-watch (finally watched S5, which I had never seen), watched the UK version of QAF to compare (I liked the US one more, for a lot of reasons, not just because I'd seen it first), and all of the new Doctor Who. I had already seen season five, which I loved (Eleven! Amy! Rory! River! ♥), and thanks to a combination of my mom encouraging me, and
Mark Watches Doctor Who (from the awesome dude who brought us
Mark Reads Harry Potter), I ended up downloading every episode, every random special, and ever confidential. It was a lot of Doctor Who, yo. But now I am totally a fan for life. And I can name all of the actors who've played the Doctor, in order. A totally useless skill, to be sure. I've read a little bit of fic (recs can be found
at my delicious, mostly Eleven, with a bit of Ten and Nine thrown in), but I can't really envision myself in the fandom. I think most of my opinions don't jive with the majority of the fandom-at-large (I actually like both Amy and River, for one) , so I will just stick to watching the show and squeeing over it with people on my flist who watch, with the occasional fic thrown in for flavor. Now, if only the BBC would tell us when S6 starts. I've heard it's not until Easter, and that is a really long time from now!

Now I think it is time to eat something, and continue with my watch of all of the Doctor Who DVD extras. Every episode has commentary! And most of them are interesting and informative! And also there is David Tennant and his video diaries, and he is great, so. I will definitely have to buy all of these sets if they're ever on sale, rather than just borrowing them from Dad for ages.
I promise I won't go so long between updates next time. Later! :D
