Today I learned that my nephew's mom has lost custody of her 3 girls, and is back in rehab. She and my nephew are unaware that she has lost custody permanently. No one has broken the news to the pipsqueak yet, but it sounds like everyone else is hoping someone else will do it ( Read more... )

Well it's truly winter here now. We've had 2 bouts of snow and I'm nursing a very sore back. This morning I tried to get out of bed for 10-15 minutes, because every which way I moved, it hurt. Last night I went out to my folks place after work, had supper then mosyed downstairs to see what my dad and nephew were upto. Turns out they were playing Rock Band on the Nephew's new Wii. I'm slowly cleaning up my house, I spend about 1 hour a night tidying up a section or so. I really do need to get rid of some books though. The pain with the books is when placing them in a box, the box gets heavy really quick.I wonder if there is a better way ( Read more... )

Ahhh it's wonderful when as you are waking-up the radio DJs are yammering about the airline that you booked your flights with has gone belly up. I've already called VISA and I won't see a refund until after the 'supposed' end of trip date (Oct 26th), because then they can file for services not rendered... I just received a call from my dad, him and mom babysit MJ during the week while my brother is at work. Today from 1pm - 4pm was MJ's birthday party. He invited 4 friends, and 2 couldn't make it, the third just didn't show up and when MJ called him he was told he thought it was on Saturday. Today is my Nephew's Birthday. MJ is 9 years old, and wow does time fly. He's so inquisitive, curious, willing to try anything. To say I adore him is an understatement.
