Ahhh, we are coming up on the long week-end which tends to mark the start of summer for us on the East Coast of Canada.
I was supposed to be running my first half marathon on Sunday, however due to my knee issues I have defered to next year.
Lately I've been thinking about creating a vision board. I was walking Fergus, and my brain was struggling to accept that I was not going to be able to participate in the half marathon and I started thinking about goals. I heard someone speak recently on setting and achieving goals and how it's must more effective when you write them down and track your progress. This led me to thinking about creating a wall... then I realised that I'm not to far away from a significant birthday.
So, I think I will work on creating a vision board over this long week-end, and break the greater goals (i.e. a marathon) into smaller achievements. I've been giving this some though while Fergus and I wander and I have a lot of it detailed out in my head, I just need to get it out of my head so I can move on to thoughts about something else... Perhaps learning to plant and grown some flowers in my gardens.
Next week I have a 3 day audit... it'll be a 4 day work week and 3 of those days I'll be nesties with the auditor. Fun times. :)

Discovered a book all about Plants in Nova Scotia (
http://museum.novascotia.ca/books) and I had to download it, it's free! There are a few plants I see in my neighbourhood and while on the hiking trails which I would love to know what they are.

I would also like to look at taking a hiking safety course, I'm a member of Hike Nova Scotia, and in the recent newsletter I saw a hiking leader course, which provides you with a certification at the end. I'm not really interested in leading a group of hikers, but since I tend to hike along, have proper preparation and skills to get me and Fergus our of most situations would make me feel more comfortable. I'll keep an eye open for one.

Can't wait for the week-end, hope you have a good one planned!
