My last entry was about my advent calendar (which I loved opening through December) and an odd encounter at the dog park.
Hmm, what has happened since then?
Not much, I started avoiding the dog park. I didn't want to run into the man again, and then possibly have to explain why I didn't call.
We had a heck of a winter here. We didn't really get snow until the end of January, but when it came it never let up. In fact it was snowing again today, luckily it's not sticking around though. I can now see about 70% of my lawn, and I'm encouraging Fergus to assist in the melting process for the snow that is left.
I suffered with S.A.D. (aka winter blues) to an extreme I don't ever remember experiencing before. When it was snowing, I would make efforts not to look out the windows. When I had to walk Fergus outside while it was snowing, I would start off fine but gradually my mood would shift to tears of dispair or absolute fury. I called my dad once and he provided some 'new ideas' for coping which helped for a while. His concern for me was apparent when he called every 8-10 hours to check-up. It was a hard, hard winter.
I did manage to get into the Sports Medicine Doctor who diagnosed me with patellofemoral pain syndrome in both knees. I've been prescribed both physio and knee braces to help recover. This is a blessing that it is something that can be treated and recovered from. :)
Otherwise life is pretty much the same routine. Wake, walk Fergus, Work, home, walk Fergus, Extra curricular activity (gym, club meeting, shopping), walk Fergus, Sleep.
Oh I did head to Vegas and did a bit of a geocaching road trip with a group of folks. I was nervous, because I don't think I'm the best travel buddy, but it was wonderful (and I don't think it was just me who thought so). Can't remember if I've been to Vegas 3 or 4 times now.. either way, I never STAY there, it's just a cheap destination when it comes to airfare and with the winter we had every single one of us was happy to escape NS for a warmer climate.
