Cleaning Schedule

Jul 30, 2008 17:29

The end of last week I made myself a cleaning schedule, what tasks to tackle on which days. Each day's cleaning should take me less than 4 hours. This week had extra things that shifted the schedule - a vet visit Monday afternoon, new rear tires for the car on Tuesday, Visiting Teaching today. And a lack of will to go back to cleaning when I got back home from these errands didn't help.

But I have been getting things done. The grocery shopping is done for the week. The laundry is washed and folded. The mail is sorted and accounting is done. I was supposed to also do the vacuuming and dusting today but tomorrow my whole day is free until evening so I should be able to do that along with cleaning the bathrooms.

Having an actual cleaning schedule staring at me from my calendar should make it easier to prioritize and get things done, and make it harder for me to ignore what I need to be taking care of. Structure is good for me.

Gratitude:
I am grateful to have a scheduling calendar on my computer to check daily and see what I need to be doing because my memory isn't able to keep track of everything.

I am grateful to be an at-home wife so I can take good care of our home. I'm not a person who needs or wants to be busy all the time. Being at home allows me to take care of our home with out being overwhelmed by a lack of time.

I am grateful for
chalain who supports my being home, and is patient while I figure out a routine for myself.

I am also grateful I have the time now to make Chalain breakfast on the week days and lunches to take to work. It saves us money and is an act of service I can do for him. It was something my mother did for my father during his working years and now I get to do it for my husband. I am part of a beautiful tradition of wives feeding their husbands and Chalain is so good to let me know how much he appreciates the food I make for him.

gratitude, cleaning
