Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
I struggled on this list. I don't regret much. Each unwise decision I have made in the past has been what made me who I am and what following decisions came to me to be made. My friend, Spike, who knows how badly I battle depression, expressed his dislike of this task. He does not feel its a good idea to dwell on mistakes of the past. Instead, I am going to list six decisions I made that turned out a lot better than it seemed at the time.
1-I had kids though I had planned not to. Having kids was good for me. I did alright with it and have great relationships with all three.
2-I let my kid adopt that big ball of muddy dog. This dog adores me and worships the ground. I walk on.
3-I. Took public speaking even though it scared the hell out of me.. Now I am quite comfortable in the public eye and enjoy teaching and speaking when I can.
4-I learned how to swim as a kid. Swimming is the best and most relaxing and yet envigorating exercise I do. I enjoy it so much.
5-I expressed my nervousness to a So. Cal. Gang member. He or a member of his gang escorted me to my car for three weeks will the gangs warred.
6-I cleaned up a bloody apartment after a friends breakup and breakdown. It really had been just an accident and not a bloody fight. They came home to peace.
