The excerpt from an interview between Paul Dini and Kevin Smith in which Dini flat-out confirms that networks do not want the audience of a children's show to be predominantly female (which those of us in fandom have known for decades, but hey, confirmation is nice, I suppose) is so blatant that I ended up boggling despite this really being old news.

The reason for this? Girls don't buy as many dolls as boys.
