Last night Ryther and I watched the end of Frost/ Nixon. The end because we started it the night before, and as usual, didn't have time to finish it. I am sitting at the computer and somewhere faintly I hear familiar music. It's the background music to my son's computer game. I go over and listen more closely, and by gosh, it sounds like Kitaro playing. So I pull out the CD and pop it in, and sure enough, it is. Too funny.

In Aug of 1969, I was not yet a year old. My parents were not baby boomers, they were pre-baby boomers, born in the ten years after the Great Depression, before WW2. I found a Kodascope Model C 16mm movie projector in the trash today. Well, the non-trash. It's in it's original case, with a few extras, but the bulb is burn out, and there is no power cord. Also no actual movie reels, just empty ones. But still, it's a cool machine. It has the feel and smell and weight of an old typewriter. Not sure what I'm going ( Read more... )

Wow, Michael Jackson dead at 50. Who'd a thunk? Did he still own all those Beatles rights, or were they sold to pay for his indiscretions? And Farrah.. well, I thought she was really good in some of her serious acting. The Burning Bed for one.
