Did I mention that my MIL just got a new car a few weeks ago. She had an older CRV, which she was going to trade in but her mechanic desperatly wanted it. There was a whole 'thing' about it and finally she sold it to the mechanic who wanted it for a friends daughter. It rather bother's me that she never bothered to ask us if we would like to buy it for our son. Even if he didnt have his licence right then, we could have put it in the driveway for when he did. If my car hadnt been totaled in 14, I probalby woudl have passed it on to him and upgraded. But that was not to be. Its kind of insulting that they didnt think of him. They just didnt think any of hte grandkids woudl ever get theri licensces. Really? Come on. ug.
Its agrovating. When I was a kid, my father had cars lined up for us. We didnt get them.... well, I think my brother had one. A Javlin, that was in the yard for years. I dont think he kept it long. He upgraded to a trans am or Camaro. I had a Pinto for a while, but that eventually went to my cousin I think. My other cousin had my uncle's car.... thats the way things went. My first car was an Audi Fox, and my father had a second one for parts, which was a good thing since I hit someone my first night out driving. But dad just replaced the front quarter and we were good to go.
You need a first car that you can bang up. Because thats what is likely going to happen. So now we are on the look out for a used car.
Himself also did get the job. Yay. So he can work for his car... which is kind of what the money will go to if he does get one. Insurnace is a killer. Then ther is gas and maintinnece. I so frucking hate the lack of spell check on this gd thing. I really really do.
