Done and done.. Another Memorial day weekend here and all that coudl be done was. The report this year is that we are a month behind. Given the loss of March because of the snow still being on the ground, and April and May for near constant funerals, there are still piles of leaves to be picked up, but the bulk of them were got. Generally the grass has been stunted from the lack of warmth and rain, a good thing for me. We have all sections mowed and mostly trimmed, all but some of the old sections. Spots have been missed, nothing I can do about it. No time to get to the fancy stuff. That will all have to wait. And tomorrow is another funeral, but just a cremation.
The back hoe was giving me issues yesterday during a dig. Bogging down and almost stalling when trying to dig or use the hyrolics. I'm hoping that it was just low on hydrolic oil, though I did replace the fule filter anyway. Added oil and we'll just have to wait to see what happens next time I take it out. I hope I didn't damage it by not having enough oil. Fingers crossed.
Cuz was telling me she didn't sleep at all last night because of her carpal tunnel pain. And the season has just begun. The cripled leading the cripled. I need a gung ho strong lad to take over for us. I need to retire and just pain. Maybe spend my days planting flowers.
Himself has come in 3 times now to work. He's not at all the outdoor type, but even if imperfect, his efforts did help us get to that passing state. He can mow at least.. though coloring in inside the lines is not his thign. lol He's still waiting to hear on some job aplications, was turned down for one. Now that the High Schools are getting out.. I think he can forget about it for the summer. He's not trying nearly hard enough.. as is his way. Too bad he cant be a student forever.. his grades are good. I would be happy if he could find an internship that didn't even pay, anything for experience.
Well, there you have it. It's been blessedly cool this spring.. and it's going to stop next week. Well, I guess I cant get my 60's summer.. but at least it's been really nice. Cant complain about that for a change.
