One of the dog walkers who I haven't seen in a while stopped by the other day. He's a nice guy, from 'the old country'. I think he's a native of the Cape Verdian Islands. Anyway, we was telling us how his wife hadn't been feeling well, then he went into how his father came over here and then went back to get him as a baby, but he died on the trip back over on the boat. Just dropped dead. He did get over here, but then there was a problem and he had to leave unless he got married.. so his family arranged a marriage for him. They brought him to this family gathering.. and after they were asking him "So, that girl, did you like her??? Did you think she was pretty?" etc. etc... then they were like "Would you like to maybe marry her?" It was so funny the way he told the story. And they did get married. And they are still married. Its funny how you hear about arranged marriages, but sometimes they work out pretty well. At least as well as some of the 'for love' ones. I hope he's told his grandchildren that story. It's a good one.
love,
marriage
