to work or not to work...

So, my Cuz's husband got called to come back to work. Seems the state is getting involved in how the company dumped the entire staff with no notice, then tried to open again under a new name. Didn't quite go down well. Of course he lost a week's pay and they still don't know if they have healthcare, and as expected the funny business is already starting. Like 'sign this before the end of the day' so they can have it in their files for the State people tomorrow. Yeah... But at least it gives him a pay check, even if it means he has to swallow his pride. And since they live paycheck to paycheck, they could not afford to be proud refuse to go back, which would also mean no unemployment since he would be refusing work. Hopefully he will take this as a wake up call and really get looking for something else. Unfortunately he isn't really a go getter, and there aren't really a lot of jobs out there. Esp. in his field, which is primarily graphic design for adds. The only plus they have is that the idea was for the company to outsource all the jobs to India, and I think the customers may have had a say in the fact that they wanted the American people to relate to. I can't blame them. But I'll be interested to see what the Labor Board says.

We finished our painting upstairs, so now we are back out to doing some outdoor work. I have to take some time off to get my year end things done, which I was planning on doing but then with the job loss thing, I didn't want to have to lay my Cuz off too since she is desperate for funds. Now at least I hope I can do that.

The Crazy Bus left on Monday for points south. She is now in Florida hoping to go to some home show and hopefully her son is getting some good sunshine to help with his skin problems. I just can't believe that she is dragging these three kids around with her. So wrong.

I realize that I have been away from LJ for a week. Wow, that's different. I'm strung out on FB. I've become a junkie.

I did do some minor painting during the week. I did a silly nighttime cemetery scene for the broken window of the cemetery. It was fun. I used glow in the dark paint. Very 'low' art.

I need a good days sleep. I feel blurry eyed. Couldn't be the computer could it?

The weather needs mention, only for the record. I think most winters we have a few really nice days, and the rest it's cold. This winter there have only been a few 'wintery' days, and the rest have been above average. Some snow may come in tomorrow with some real cold. Just as the crocuses come out.. yeah figures. The robins are here and there... I just filled the bird feeders in case some come by. It's been pretty sparse this year.

I also noticed the trees dripping like rain in one area. The maples. I assume this means the squirrels are ripping them apart, and that they are running way too soon. Should be a bad year for maple syrup.
