Wow, what happened to Sept?

That was fast.

I just picked the last of my peppers today, and I took in my second gourd of the season, which is all I got this year. That is two more than I thought I would get judging from how long it took the buggers to start flowering. My poor cherry tomatoes are rotting on the vine. Neither of the boys, who claim they are like "candy" have been eating them, and they look rather ill this year, so I just left them. I at least enjoy hucking them at the compost bin where they explode. I have dozens of beans growing in my compost, but they probably wont come to anything before the first frost. My poor summer squash looked so good, then they just rotted and died. I have no idea why.  I picked two bunches of parsley today that I am going to try to dry.  There is more in the garden that i might freeze. I love parsley. And it's so good for an upset tummy. If you ever overeat at a restaurant and they have parsley as a garnish, eat it! It makes a world of difference.

It's time to start vacuuming out the heating vents and putting up the plastic on the windows. Maybe not this week, but soon. Flannel sheets need to go on the bed.  It's cha.. cha... chilly.
