Wow, what happened to Sept?

That was fast.

I just picked the last of my peppers today, and I took in my second gourd of the season, which is all I got this year. That is two more than I thought I would get judging from how long it took the buggers to start flowering. My poor cherry tomatoes are rotting on the vine. Neither of the boys, who claim they are like "candy" have ( Read more... )

like tomatoes can suffer from "blossom rot", which comes from being overwatered. suggest mixing in perlite or sand to "loam it" a bit, planting in soil that drains well. miniture plum tomatoes did well this year, secound by cherry tomatoes.

chilly in bed? add one or two dogs might help. have fun. Wildflower 06

Well, my garden is over my septic system, so below the 9 inches give or take of loam is pure sand. I don't think drainage is the problem. Too much shade maybe? Not enough heat? Who knows. I'll try them in a different spot next summer. See what happens.
I don't have dogs, I have a cat that litteraly jumps on my chest as soon as I get under the covers. But she hates the other two cats so I can't have but one on the bed. Not as warm as a few dogs I am sure. I once thought to make a quilt with dogs and cats sewn onto it. (not real ones)

that's why the parsley is there...hee!(it's also a natural breath freshener)

Well, it would be nice if they told people that.(which reminds me, you don't see parsley garnishes that much these days, or at least not where I eat) I don't know about the breath freshening though. Parsley breath may beat garlic, but I think I'll stick to mint.
