Dear George...

Today I got an email from Where's George.com. Apparently a dollar that I registered 3 years ago finally found it's way to someone who bothered to put it into the data base. My buck has traveled 696 miles in that time, and is in St. John's MI. I think that's pretty cool.

Sunday Ryther and I stopped by our neighbor's parent's new house. They just had their parent's (the grandmother's) house torn down and a new house built on the lot. The old house was basically a summer cottage that had been renovated to be year round. The only bathroom was upstairs, and it was tiny. With Grandmother in her 80's, they decided it would be worthwhile to make a new house with an in law appt. for Granny, and that way they could take care of her while they all enjoyed the beautiful piece of property. The new house is really nice. It's big, but not huge, considering the lot. They still have some land left, but mostly it's about the water view, which they have in spades. And I imagine the house is now worth much more than what the original house ever would have been. We got the grand tour. Very very nice.

On the way back, we happened to go by Ryther's parent's house and his mom and dad were out front weeding. So we stopped to chat. I swear to god his father is jealous or something of his wife. We were having a nice conversation, got on to the the subject of the farmers market, and I said I spent almost my whole paycheck there a few weeks ago. She said "I know, they are so expensive" and Mr. just about blew a gasket and snapped that it's labor intensive and of course it's more money. It may be labor intensive, but $3.00 for 10 small cookies is still a rip off. I don't care how you slice it. And $7.00 for zucchini bread? These are zucchinis we are talking about. You can't GIVE them away. So while I enjoy the products, YES they are overpriced because the customers will pay it.
So anyway, I didn't argue, I just said goodbye and walked away. I'm just not willing to put up with that shit. No one was arguing, we were just talking. If he has to make it an issue, well, whatever. I just think he gets jealous that his wife is getting attention, even though if no one talks to him, it's his own fault. It's not like we haven't tried, and it takes two to make a conversation. (that's conversation, not argument.)

We also got a bottle of wine on the way home that we will bring to the next get together. I saved the cork from a bottle at Sushi's ex's birthday, one that everyone was ga ga over. I finally remembered to take it with us to the wine shop and they had the brand. So they will have to see if it still holds up. It wasn't nearly as expensive there as it was in the restaurant as I recall. lol

Biv had a few juicy racist remarks today, although I can only recall one. She was going on about how she really liked Obama, she thinks he's doing OK. And I told her not a lot of people would agree right now. I informed her about Obama endorsing the Mosque near Ground Zero. Well, that changed her tune. She thought the 'sand people' should build it in Nevada. Sand people. Well, at least she didn't call them sand niggers. (yes, I just wrote the N word, OMG) It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant she can be, and on how many different levels. I wonder how her little brain is going to rationalize this? I just love throwing a wrench in the works.

I have to fill out the entry form for the art show. Gaaa, I only have one painting to enter. That and the sculpture. I could a done more... I could a been a contender!
