Lawyers and greed
I talked to my uncle today. While he seemed in good spirits considering, it does seem I am to be his executrix. Seems to be my calling. I hope he has a better lawyer than my father did. He has to put all his ducks in a row on paper, but he just wanted to run it by me. Apparently his son's ex wife is giving the fiance a run for her money by taking her to court for the insurance money that he left. They had both, my cousin and his fiance, changed their ins. to make each other the beneficiary. The fiance offered to continue the payments that my cousin was making to his kids and set up a college fund, but that wasn't good enough. The ex wants it all. I hope she loses. She bankrupted them the first time as a shopaholic. Maybe if this woman holds the money, at least there will be something for the kids in a few years.
The one drawback of being my uncles executrix is that he's still married. He hasn't lived with his wife in 8 or so years, but they are still on friendly terms and he pays her half his pension and Social I guess. I am sure if he goes first, she will expect to get it all. And if not her, her surviving son. Which is why I hope my uncle has a good lawyer who can guide him through this.
Well, Season Two of True Blood arrived today. :)
